Verizion does not use sim cards. It uses something called wcdma. It uses the sim card for 4G connectivity only That is why it would not work with the tmobile sim.

Cool intro. Are you sure that T mobile and Verizon runs on same LTE bands? Im not from US. I asked moto support if verizon version is unlocked and they said yes which is contrary to what verizon says.

What did you do in between getting no signal and with the error "not a verizon sim, " and then getting it to work. I just bought a unlocked version of the Moto X 2nd Gen, and I'm inserting my T mobile Nano Sim into it, and i am getting no results, no signal whatsoever, it refuses to accept the sim. All the answers I'm getting online is to put the sim in when the phone is off, but even that isn't achieving the results i want. Whats your opinion?

You have to turn off your device before you switch Sim cards with Android.
