DIY Cyclone Tube Tornado in a Bottle ~ Incredible Science

learn how to make your own epic Cyclone Tornado in a Bottle! I'll show you all the steps you need to make an incredible tornado in a bottle science experiment! I'll also show you how to make a colorful mini cyclone tornado tube! All you need to make this at home is a mason jar some water and dish soap and some glitter or colorful beads.

It's easy to create the spinning vortex of water or any other liquid. You can also add food coloring to give it an awesome look! I used clear dishwashing liquid but you can use any color. The cyclone tube or tornado in a bottle is done by adding water and leaving approximately 1 inch of space on top. Add 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and add any glitter or food coloring or beads that you want. Then give it a good spin for about 5 seconds around and around and watch the tornado cyclone form!!! It's truly Incredible Science!

My 5th grade teacher had one of these in 1988 and I loved it. She did it with two two liter bottles and used pvc fitting to connect the two bottles and the water flowed into the bottom bottle and made a tornado that way. She also made one that was a wave inside a two liter bottle it was awesome. It was baby oil and something to make it thick and coloring to make it blue

You can also flick the jar in a circular motion really fast, that way you don't have to spin it and risk dropping it.
