Apple's Final Cut Camera App SUCKS!!!

Honestly I'm not sure what Apple is thinking when it comes to developing their Final Cut products. So much potential, non of it realized. Thank goodness we have Blackmagic Design stepping in.

Why would Apple not give the option of ProRes 422 or 422 LT 😔

the problem with BM for me is its auto-focus is slow and bad.

I liked the “simplicity” of Final Cut Camera. But about a month ago it stopped recognizing my external ssd which is required for Apple Log at 60 fps so back to black magic

One nice thing about FCP Camera App is the smooth slider zoom control.
Keep in mind this is basically a first release for FCP Camera whereas BMD Camera has had several feature updates.
GIven both FCP iPad and FCP Camera are entering into a market with more mature quality competitors I suspect Apple will be very aggressive with their updates otherwise why bother entering at all.

Another huge omission from the Final Cut camera app is the video file size, they are huge. Black Magic allows you to shoot videos with much smaller files.
