65 Coronet: Upgrading the Rear Suspension in Your Old Mopar

Показать описание
The 65 Coronet’s rear suspension was in terrible need of an overhaul. In this video, I disassemble the rear springs and shock plates, clean and paint, and reinstall the 8 3/4 with new Eaton springs, bushings, bolts, shackles, and QA1 Billet shocks.

Very nice work.
Unbelievable transformation.
Good job Joe. I really like that satin black.
Take care, Ed.

Looks great. I think I over tightened my bolts on my leaf springs in the Satellite and didn’t let it rest on the ground before tightening. Might be the source of my vibration issues.

Keep on keeping on, Mr. JMJ! I know what you mean I had to put a door on a Cat skid steer, with all the goodies in the heat today. Wiper and washer, . A/C, heat, double thick tempered safety glass, defrost, switch the wiring harness, washer pump and tank, wiper motor, latch, safety switch for the door, and new seals. You got the picture, nothing like modern top of the line equipment.

So I might actually get to see this car when it hits the streets of Houston, pretty cool.

The satin is perfect, easy to clean, but not so glossy it looks trashy. Nice work Joe.

Looking really clean and should be easy to keep it looking that way with that paint. Nice work. 👍

Thanks Mopar Joe, for sharing where you got the new leaf springs. That very same job you're doing is absolutely on my "To Do" list (just as soon as i can raise the $ ).

Where the front spring hangers bolt is where they make adjustments for rear axle alignment. IF it needs to be aligned, the alignment guy will be very happy to not have to fight rusted bolts

Looks great, Joe

Nice 😁. Question, the front shackles, I noticed the passenger/driver side leaf to shackle bolts. I always thought the bolt head was on inside to not allow it to walk out if the nut fell off. I could be wrong

I like the attention of the details that you are doing to make it look as good as possible without going to town on a rotisserie off the frame restoration. I think you are doing a great job, regardless of the critics, only one thing that I am not a fan of is zip ties, but I am only a opinion buddy. Great evening and great job. TTYL

Great video, Joe! I'd re-use the "u" bolts for the rear too or get new ones. Aftermarket I'd throw those away. Everyone has a opinion on how to but the whole rear and springs together but in the end, it's what works and works for ya. If the owner doesn't like the car, I'm sure I'd take it off his hands.

Looking good. That Eastwood encapsulator looks like it sprays great and looks good too. I need to get some of those QA1 shocks for my car.
