Got a job as an Intern as a Java Developer and since January I've been using Java on VSCode, I never thought I would go this far and creating projects while using technologies such as Maven, Spring, Hibernate, and so on

So everyone knows TS and VS Code go together, and in the past month on this channel you've featured Rust, PHP, and Java. We desperately need a much better way to manage extensions per language. Having to scroll through every installed extension and manually enable / disable the language specific extensions for every single project we create is a real bummer.

Great stuff, how to run a gwt project in super dev mode from VS code, any idea on that ? I'm definitely enjoying code but gotta rely on eclipse still to achieve what I need

I know this may come as a shock to the cool kids out there but many, many corporate IT departments remain on JDK 1.8 (Java 8) because they are also tied to an application server that only supports up to Java 8, for Example IBM WebSphere 8.5x. To get corporations to move to something newer is akin to moving mountains. It might not seem cool but it is reality in the corporate Java world. Until more corporations move to a cloud environment with flexible runtime environments instead of big iron dedicated application servers this will continue to be the case for at least another decade.

Java/spring/maven support in vscode is so good and mature that I cancelled the overpriced and overhyped intellij subscription.

Once you develop a taste for vscode and discover it's full power it's impossible to leave

Originally I thought vscode is faster than eclipse but looks like vscode is way slower than eclipse! Very disappointing...
