Traction control is still my worst enemy, the tiniest bit of throttle and I spin out. I'm losing so much time from how slow and cautious I'm having to be with it

So today was my first time really disabling ABS and putting the time to learn how to control the car without locking up and this was also a big thing for me because I master traction control off since f1 22 and once I started to push myself and learning from your tips you gave, I can honestly say it helps my racing so much now, I have more to improve on over time but it’s been a major step for me

Another Great in-depth one !!

One quick tip I'd like to add / pass-on is regarding your

For a few years, before I bought and upgraded my set-up to a Wheel and Pedals bolted to a proper Racing Rig and Seat, I used to play using a controller and I developed a little technique that helped to give me a LOT more control round corners and generally be much smoother.

When you need / want to have more control, simply push and hold Up ^ on your steering joystick then roll the joystick around to the left or right, as though you're using a allows you to add the smallest of change to your steering, and hold it throughout a turn etc, a LOT easier than any other way when playing with a controller.

I hope I've described it good enough for everyone to understand and I hope my little technique helps improve your lap times and enjoyment of the game.

Keep On Racing People !!

I always struggle to see how and where I lose out to the more advanced drivers. You really are doing the lord’s work mate. Amazing stuff.

Biggest challenge for me is driving without Racing line. It needs so much practice for each track

Turning.
If you are braking then turn slowly.
If no braking is required for the turn you can turn the wheel fast.
You can dab the brakes mid turn to transfer weight to the front to pull the front of the car into the apex.
Using a late apex will give you better straight line speed.
When racing with others the racing line isn't the fastest way.
You will achieve a faster race time if you let the cars through that have way more pace than you and using them to improve your lap times rather than losing time defending

I've been playing racing sims for a few years now and I just learned that downshifting WHILE braking really helps to slow down the car and shorten brake distances. Before I was downshifting after braking and couldn't figure out why other racers were able to brake so much better than me. My times have improved by multiple seconds in every racing game I play now.

i have been playing a few sim racing game for the last years, Wrc, dirt 2.0, assetto corsa, Automobillista.. i just got F1 2023, first F1 game ever, and its really overwhelming. i think the game is a bit underated in the sim racing community, its MUCH more complex and way harder than i expected. F1 2023 really puts back your ego on track.

Awesome video! It's even better than your F1 22 video, which I didn't think was possible. Nice work. And thank-you! It's a massive help for me.

A tip for improving really fast and good is to push the car over the limits and is hard to drive faster, you can start braking way later than you thought you could and get to 100% throttle faster than you thought you can and of course you learn really good car control.

Using 1080p 60fps immediately helped me gain a tenth or two at every track. The game not being able to render the finer bumps on track really helps with grip and traction. Sounds crazy but it works.

There's 25% more braking power on tap by not downshifting... until your breaking momentum slows, then its several quick down shifts to match the exit rpm of the corner. Also, while your braking, choose a breaking marker that allows your car to carry into the corner and to the apex, as doing so greatly improves front grip thru high speed corners.. like those at Monza and Zandvoort.

after about 6 months of trying and failing to drive on F1 22 i went back to F1 2020 and F1 2021 to start enjoying racing again - i honestly feel the F1 23 handling model is just so much easier than either of these games, the force feedback i get makes me be able to drive a lot more by feel

In F123, if you have ABS on, you can potentially run 50% BB without fear of locking the rear, which can improve your rotation and allow you to get on the power earlier if you do it right. Not a fan of that trick though.

This channel is so good! I'm starting to play more racing games and your videos has been really helpful!

Hey buddy, loving guides. Very helpful. Wondering if you'll be doing a in-depth set up guide video?

I’m here because I lose the rear everytime I hit a corner. And I use full traction control. Braking seems different as well

disagree that ABS is slower. It allows you to perfectly trailbreak into every corner by simply standing on the break and letting the system modulate the pressure for you and never lock up. But I like having to adjust the car through small slides and lockups so I still turn it off.
