Is Great Faith a Gift from God or Can We Grow in Our Faith?

Is each believer assigned a certain measure of faith, or can we grow in faith and develop our faith?

If we are commanded to grow in Grace, then that would include growing in all the gifts that come with that Grace, including Faith.

To anybody interested, one understanding of the 'gift' of faith is a supernatural, powerful boost of faith in a saint for a short while, similar to events of healing or prophesying. It comes and goes then. If that's the right interpretation.

thank you Dr Brown. I have been feeling very empty for months. I don't feel motivated to read the Bible, to pray. even my speech is getting more vulgar. I feel my faith is at all time low and I don't know what to do about it practically. maybe I will start by praying a little more regularly

Simple comparison would be faith and muscles. All are born with muscles. Some bigger some smaller. Some grow quicker than others but all can excercise and become stronger. If you don't use them they get atrophy
