Spyderco Amalgam: Balanced EDC & Tactical Folder

An unheralded and perhaps underrated addition to the Spyderco Line-up, deserving of more respect!

A nice large, light, EDC compression lock, running on bearings, which opens very smoothly and has great ergos!

Weight relieved significantly via skeletonized liners (forgot to mention this...) and just about an "ounce an inch!" No hump on this one, which may disappoint some?

Reviewers all note the light detent and that fact the flipper tab has to pass through the compression lock area. I like the knife. Could have left the tab off and just went with the spydie hole for deployment. Thanks for the vid !

I have had one for about 3 months, an can say if you like a larger folder, this is the ticket. Very lightweight, and very dependable, carries awesome too!

I had one and a Tropen and I sold both to a 'friend' who kept pestering me. I really like the Amalgam but when it comes to Spyderco, I'm really more into the Golden Colorado knives. Weird because the Taichung Taiwan blades have better quality. Just got a Military 2. Now, I don't miss either of those anymore. You should try the Military 2.
