I plan to move to ND next month because of inflation, I'm a CNA with two kids and I don't get any government assistance. I'm so tired of being broke for paying bills and paying cash for groceries. I'm from Chicago and am currently living in Minnesota.

I cried myself to sleep one night and woke up and googled cheapest places to live in the world and it showed me ND and Wyoming. Since I'm already here in Minnesota I'm gonna go with ND . The rent is very affordable, I plan to move there, save 80% of my income and build wealth and Business for my kids future!! I will admit I will not stay in ND permanently but it will be for a few years 🤑🥰

I'm so glad I found your video. I've been really thinking about what to do next and I'm from NJ. I only have family on the east coast but I'm not too worried about being that far away from them. I'm probably going to visit next month to see how it is first before really making that decision. Thank you for your honesty and great content.

I went to college at NDSU in the 70s and 80s. I ended up living there in Fargo for 9 years. It was kind of an adventure when I was young, but haven't been back in 40 years, and I don't miss it.

I've livered here about 27 years now, and the past 4 winters (including 2021 ;) have been NICE, relatively speaking!

How do you feel about cultural and sporting life in Fargo: clubs, associations, theaters, concerts, cinema, exhibitions, various events? One of my European friends is going to live there.

I spent a month in Fargo in 2021. The people there are the friendliest in the USA imho . Like being able to drive 20 minutes and be in the middle of nowhere. But I’m old 😂. Except for the winters I’d move there in a heartbeat . Winter scares me a little

I moved to Fargo 6 years ago from the south… I honestly love the cold and snow… the coldest winter that I witnessed moving here was the 2018-2019 winter season, it got to negative 60, lots of blizzards and a record total of 52 inches of snow…. I pay $1, 220 for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment in west Fargo

My dads fam are from the area (ND/MN), love 4 seasons, I'm born and raised like this.
BTW, I live in Scandinavia, exactly same climate. Love Fargo, nicest people ever ever, can't believe I'm still in Europe.

I've lived in Fargo for 7 years, and I've lived in ND/MN my whole life. I want to move elsewhere, but the job security and cost of living is too difficult to give up in these chaotic times. The winters are NO JOKE though. Coldest I've experienced was -50F, and 30mph wind on top of that. And yes, I still went to work that day. That was 1 time, but its -20s for at least a week every winter.

Also, Vit D supplements are a requirement here.

Oh, I feel for you, moving to Fargo in January. I was born and raised here so I always like to hear what people from other areas think of the place. It's not paradise but as you've mentioned there are plenty of good things about the area. But yes, winters are chilly. If you've got the proper clothing and a good car winters aren't that big a deal, though I wouldn't mind if they were a little shorter. Good insights, thank you.

You really did a great job of fairly describing Fargo. I just moved away for better weather 6 months ago, but as soon as my lease is completed I will be returning as fast as I can. But I do have something to add from personal experience. For Veterans considering Fargo for a place to live, it has far and away the very BEST VA I have ever been enrolled in. I have experienced the Cleveland, Ohio VA (Louis Stokes), the Johnson City, Tennessee VA ( the James Quillen death trap!), as well as the Wyoming VA system, and though Cleveland and Wyoming weren't bad, Johnson City is AWFUL, the Fargo VA is awesome and in a class by itself!! One of the main reasons I will be at my age😂...moving back in 6 months. Just something I have found to be a big factor for Veterans considering relocation.

Hey girl I’m from Iowa thinking about moving to SD for the cheaper cost of living and the jobs will be there a few years to save and buy me a house somewhere in the south after! ❤

Wonderful overview touching a few major concerns. WEATHER IS IMPORTANT AS IT ROBS ONE OF SIX MONTHS EACH YEAR. Have not seen foreigners like myself, on the posts but I must make mention, during my employ tenure in the US, I found most Americans to be a lovely people. Actually my current friend base remains the Americans I met when I was there. If you need to move to another life experience, America has the ability to support anyone at any level ranging from janitor to all those high level jobs, and all such within different settings of climate, topography, culture, cuisine, , , did I forget to mention my true love, FOOD!!!? Please make your lives the marvellous thing that God intended for His children. This life journey does bear significance and you Americans are in a position to take advantage of the wonders of such a beautiful country. Thank you Miss Mariah, for such a meaningful post! The best to you all as I know you all have the keys to a meaningful life.

Completely accurate, moved to Fargo 3 years ago. I knew the winters were going to be cold and snow-filled but I did not expect the wind 😂 it is definitely much more affordable than where I lived before, I find the smaller city rather peaceful. People are definitely kind and willing to help (especially when stuck in the snow, never had to wait long for someone to help dig me out). And I like that it is easier to save money so I typically take a few weekend trips in the winter to get out of the cold.
