I went to a restaurant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that had a rule like this! I was going to order a huge combo plate (two burritos, rice, etc) but the waiter said I couldn't split it with my girlfriend. The restaurant had a 20% up-charge for sharing! I ended up getting a smaller meal, she got an appetizer, and it cost about the same as the big combo meal. Absolutely ridiculous.
