Honestly for parkinson fruits, vegetables, and little protein works great. The biggest thing is drinking lots of water esp w your meds 1 cup of water. Exercise is helpful.

I think everything starts in your gut-- the new idea is that where certain autoimmune diseases (Parkinson's included) start. I am already on a no sugar, no alcohol or artificial sweetener diet. It is believed that sugar causes inflammation in your body. So far though I haven't felt any different--lost about 10 pounds. Too bad about the ice cream!!!!

Thanks for another great video, David! So glad that you have discovered a healthy new way to eat. I haven't heard of the MIND diet before but it certainly makes sense to eliminate the excess carbs/empty calories and focus on healthy fats, lean proteins, and whole foods. I am a type 2 diabetic and have found that a low carb diet, similar to yours, can really decrease inflammation throughout the body. I also recently began doing intermittent fasting and have lost 30 pounds since January! My doctor feels that intermittent fasting is the best practice to stop further damage to our brains and to allow our bodies to heal themselves (two really good sources of information about intermittent fasting can be found on YouTube channels from Jason Fung and Dr. Ken Berry). I look forward to hearing more about your new healthy eating plan and the many benefits you are sure to receive from it!

I have been eating more fish. It seems to help speed up my digestion. Also, I use olive oil a lot. No caffeine as it increases my tremor.

Sounds like an excellent diet for all of us! I bought a wok, carbon steel no Teflon, and learned about Asian dishes. Now my normal supper only involves cleaning one pan which is wiping it out with a paper towel! You would be surprised how little meat it takes to prepare an excellent meal. All the best veggies are great in a wok! Some say olive oil isn't for woks. Don't listen to them! Unless you plan on buying one of those 200, 000 BTU mega furnaces the pros use!

I’ve love Sardines, kale, olive oil, all the Mediterranean healthy yummies….actually right now I’ve got two bottles of olive oil made with olives that myself and a group of friends harvested and a friend presses. So delicious!! I am weak though and sometimes just need to bake some chocolate chip cookies 🤗 or lemon olive cake, or buy a bag of Tate’s Coconut Cookies. Also for a sugar substitute I use grade A organic maple syrup or local honey. I eat really good but I do indulge when I want to 🙃
