Trying To Keep Track Of Everything | Rail Route (Railway Network Builder & Automation Game)

Показать описание
Rail Route is a game where we design, build, plan and automate a rail network, and I am going to begin this video description with an apology... I apologise for just how rubbish I am at this game!

The idea of the game is to build up a rail network but from a more administrative point of view. We're looking at an overhead technical diagram of a rail network and can see all the different stations, connections, switches and everything else.

To begin with everything is very manual. We have to assign trains to platforms, change the points to make the trains go to where they need to go, press the signals to allow the trains through, that sort of thing.

As more trains reach their destinations and we complete contracts we earn points which we can use to unlock helpful things, such as automatic platform assignments for the trains when they arrive. All this helps us automate things a little better.

We can also buy more platforms, open up new stations, build new train tracks, even build little conductor huts to pick up more contracts.

And I'm sure it's all wonderful, I was just pretty awful at it!

Ever dreamed of designing your own railway network? Building it from scratch, adding more stations, taking on more contracts, watching your small network grow into a complex, thriving rail system? Rail Route makes this dream a reality!

Master the art of automation
Start with a few stations, design your first railway lines, and experience the joy of your first train completing its route. Take on contracts to earn money and upgrade points, unlocking new technologies that introduce more trains and automation tools into your network. With each added station and contract, the complexity grows, but so does your mastery. Experience the thrill of watching your railway network evolve from a few simple lines to a bustling, automated operation. Automation in Rail Route isn't just a feature - it's a complex, rewarding challenge. As your strategy unfurls, every signal placement and contract planning decision adds another gear in the intricate machine of your network. And when the trains glide smoothly through the tracks, operating flawlessly on their own, you'll feel that unparalleled satisfaction - not just of a job well done, but of mastering a world of your own creation.

Unleash complexity in simplicity
Navigate the charming minimalism of the design, reflecting the familiar screen of a train dispatcher yet imbued with a unique twist. It presents an intuitive interface at a glance - a system that can be understood in minutes. However, beneath this simple surface, a world of intricate mechanics awaits, revealing itself as more stations are added and more contracts are undertaken. Each new layer of complexity maintains the design's authenticity, capturing the essence of real-world rail management.

Your network, your rules
The freedom is yours: build from scratch, gradually unlocking technologies and resources to create your ultimate rail network across real-world city maps. Experience the satisfaction of perfect scheduling, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of trains that reflects your strategic acumen. Oh dear, that was quite... chaotic. Lots of sophisticated, convoluted descriptions and diagrams and sometimes clicking the most fancy sounding ones resulted in a train moving fom A to B, which was quite wonderful... at other times, the lottery didn't pay off and nothing happened. Oh well, it was worth a try.

I think it's quite obvious, that this game is not aimed at the casual gamer, but is meant as a challenging toy for train- and diagram-techheads.

This seems like a cool game. Not sure if you want to cover it on the channel ( but you should, you explained it really cool). Also thank you Penge for the video

Bin all the signals between Birmham Intl and Shetford and the trains will autoroute( for now).

The relay sensors need to be upstream of the switch/route to be controlled.

I think this game would bore me to tears. I do like trains but not trying to manage them.

Love your videos and you but please do the tutorials as this just makes me want to watch other videos because of you not wanting to do the tutorial and making it very painful to listen.
.I mean no harm but please do it and make one more episode

Maybe you should give it another go. Play though the tutorial and learn what the different things do. I think if you took the time to learn it the game might be fun.

Very interesting game, thanks for showcasing it. It would be super great, if you would play Bandle Tale

Seems like you should try tutorial first. Its not quite fun watching if all you do is saying "i have no clue how anything works".
