Reading novels is a escape to me and I'm too much into it.. and that leds me to start writing fictions. I'm glad before starting my any novel Allah guided me and now I'm here. Now I'll try to avoid Haram fiction, and in writing those I'll keep it Halal. Thank you. And if anyone know some Halal fiction please tell me their names.

Fiction, especially older books, can tell us a lot about history, culture, and comparative religion. I like to look at fiction through an Islamic lens to show how society's timeless problems and questions can be addressed by Islam. I'm currently writing a fictional book for young adults with Muslim characters that does not contain haram themes as most books "for Muslim young adults" do. The sahaba used to write poetry. I think it depends on what you're reading and your intention but I am being more careful to avoid literature that glorifies haram or is a waste of time. Non fiction is a good alternative if you enjoy reading, and of course balance those books with gaining Islamic knowledge which we know will benefit us

In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr, as was reported in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Juwairiya reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came out from (her apartment) in the morning as she was busy in observing her dawn prayer in her place of worship. He came back in the forenoon and she was still sitting there. He (the Holy Prophet) said to her: You have been in the same seat since I left you. She said: Yes. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: I recited four words three times after I left you and if these are to be weighed against what you have recited since morning these would outweigh them and (these words) are: "Hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him according to the number of His creation and according to the pleasure of His Self and according to the weight of His Throne and according to the ink (used in recording) words (for His Praise)."

A lot of young people can't stop reading books that are meaningless, I want to become a writer so that, people who want to read but can't find halal books can read my books with ease. Is it okay?? I'm a mystery and fantasy writer. I don't write romance at all, but I try to add good messages and good advice, I'm also thinking of writing muslim characters to promote good qualities of character and good conduct. Is that permissible??

Salam aleikum warahmetuAllah wabarakatu,

My father in law is an imam and he told me this concerning fantasy. That everything in Islam is halal unless it is clearly forbidden in the Quran or Sunnah. Writing fantasy is halal even if it has magic or time travel because it is entertainment. State clearly that this is not true in the beginning, do not mock Islam or the Prophet, encourage good values and do not write things of an erotic nature. Fantasy is everywhere; games, anime, shows, movies.

A few things are clearly stated as haram in the Quran leaving no doubt whatsoever that they are forbidden. Such as hurting someone or yourself. Things that are makruh are disliked or inadvisable and best avoided all together. But they are not haram.

It is far better to say that something haram is halal than to say that something halal is haram. Because the first could be human error but the second only Allah can forbid. SubhanAllah. So people who say that everything is haram, should certainly think twice before doing so. It makes it difficult to love Islam and takes people further from Allah. In fact Allah has said that if people did not sin, He would replace them with those who did. There is a hadith about sinners who got into Paradise because they repented for their sins and those sins were turned into good deeds, SubhanAllah. So Allah loves you more if you sin and draw closer to him by sincerely repenting, rather than you not sinning at all.

Islam is there to make your life easier and better. Do not be extreme or overly harsh. The degree of the sin and your intention matters. Be sensible. If you abstain from that which is doubtful, you will be rewarded but it is not punishable.

That's how many get others into evil, by just showing the haram way through haram education, novels with haram curiosity. Thanks Doc you just explained about the entry points to evil and how not to get there. 💐🌠
