Such a good twist to make the ghost of Bill a hostage, but it really made me think about how sad this was that all he wanted to do was come home and see his loved ones, and yet was trapped by this truly evil entity. I feel like it would’ve broken his heart to know that he was being manipulated to hurt the family. Part of me wish they’d shown a scene of him sitting in the chair at the end of the film, and the whole family can see him smiling, and they know he’s still there, but not a threat.

This is my favorite part in the movie. Bill gets to break free from the demon just long enough to help by giving Lorraine a clue. Truly shows that he is being held hostage by the demon and not actually evil himself.

I was so sad for Old Man Billy. To come back to his old home, looking for his loved ones, and finding no one around anymore. Completely alone. If not for the malignant entity Valak, who trapped him to suffer even longer. This movie is very sweet and sad at the same time.

It’s sad to think that after he’d died, he became a spirit who got trapped in this world because he wanted to see his family but got manipulated with by Valak to torment others.
