Bo Katan is a BAD PERSON

Bo Katan most recently appeared in the Mandalorian season 2 and 3 where she served as a supporting character and eventual ruler of the planet Mandalore, allowing our hero The Mandalorian Din Djarin to once again return to a life of week-by-week adventures without the burdens of rulership or the pressure of keeping the show tied to a single elongated storyline like Kenobi or Andor. The Mandalorian has really established itself as a “monster of the week adventure through the Star Wars Galaxy”, and giving the Darksaber to Bo Katan allows the show to go back to its roots, with mando taking The Child Grogu on adventures throughout the galaxy.

Before Bo Katan appeared in the Mandalorian Seasons 2 and 3 she was an animated character in the show Star Wars Rebels, where she was… again, a supporting character who was given the darksaber by a lead protagonist so that she could rule Mandalore. In that show she was believed to be of noble character and worthy to lead the Mandalorian people.

However, before that Bo Katan was an ANTAGONIST in the animated show Star Wars the Clone Wars where she served a much more… malevolent role. Prior to season 7, Bo Katan was second in command of the Mandalorian Terrorist fringe activist group known as Death Watch.

During her time with Death Watch, Bo Katan would be responsible for some of the worst atrocities seen during the Clone Wars, but here are some of the worst. In the episode “A Friend In Need” alone, we can see that Bo Katan is complicit in the occupation of Carlacc, an innocent world. The subjugation, capture, and enslavement of the indigenous population of that planet. Later, when the beaten population begged for their daughters back, Bo Katan burned their village to the ground.

Let’s not forget that Bo Katan is the person who tells Mando to find Ahsoka. This is the episode where she and Ahsoka met. Their relationship began with Bo Katan verbally objectifying Ahsoka as Lux Bontari’s little plaything, and follows the verbal harassment with the physical act of sexual assault against a minor.

It’s unclear why Filoni decided that Bo Katan should be a hero, and not a terrorist villain. It’s clear that it was around the death of Pre Vizla, and Maul’s takeover of the planet, but still her moral spectrum is so intense that I’m still not sure whether or not I should trust the character. But then, maybe that’s the point.

So the next time you think about Din Djarin giving her the Darksaber, remember who it is that now rules Mandalore.

Season 3 should’ve allowed us to see her return to her more villainous nature with her becoming desperate and treacherous to reclaim the darksaber which in her case would’ve made sense given how much she’s lost and failed before hand

I just love when a video admits the truth about her.

I’m just confused why they would make her the central focus in someone else’s show… stop tricking us into watching something we didn’t care about and instead make a their own show.

The problem with the character is that she is obviously a horrid person, but the show continues to try and make her as badass and cool as possible while also making other characters just look past the fact that she is a selfish hypocrite and follow her lead all the time. It would have been SO much better if she was a villain of the 3rd season. But nah, gotta make her free of all implications and past problems.

I honestly think Bo didn’t change much in the Clone Wars. The only reason she split from Death Watch was because Maul, a non-Mandolorian took over. If it was a random Mandolorian who challenged and killed Vizla she would have continued on as she wws upto that point. I think her philosophy is "The strongest Mandolorian will be Mandalor" as to Visla's "Whoever can kill the Mandolor is the new Mandolor, doesn’t matter if you are a Mandolorian, Clone, Sith, Jedi or even a Zillo Beast"

However it is hillarious to watch Bo accuse Din of being a terrorist. His group that you hate is called "Childeren of the Watch". Which Watch you think that is Bo? A fukin Rolex?

For me based upon the things that happened in season 2 of the Mandalorian and the Clone Wars series I was kind of expecting Bo in season 3 to shadow Din and take people out if they got close to taking the dark saber from him. I was almost expecting like an Afro samurai situation. Obviously the show went in a different direction.

Thing with the darksaber is that she never earned it in combat, in fact she was pretty much a sore loser.
Maul challenged Pre Viszla to a one on one duel to the death for the right to rule mandalore and deathwatch, something that according to old mandalorian tradition pre Viszla had to accept or it would stain his honor forever. Maul would use his lightsaber and pre vislza would use the darksaber. Thing is Maul actually fought more fairly than Pre Viszla, he also used his blasters, jet pack, and all the other mandalorian tools that were designed to combat force users.
Maul on the other hand didn’t even use the force in this duel, he only used his lightsaber and his bare hands. He slowly made Viszla’s gear inoperable and fought him while he still had the darksaber and eventually beat Viszla to the ground.
The only time Maul used the force was to pull the darksaber to his hand, this is because Maul knew that he had won this fight and Viszla knew it too and had accepted his defeat and execution. Maul won fairly based on his skill alone.
Bo Katan wasn’t having it and decided to run off with others who supported her and divided the mandalorians even further.

Lots of people are a-holes until they face horrible tragedy and then realize their horrible ways and change.
So it could just be yet another redemption arc in Star Wars, something we've seen many times.

Bo-katan definitely has a lot of character development that just happened. There's a lot of her history to fill in to explain her motives.

Mando season 3 became the Bo Karen show. She got all of Season 3 that should be good enough for Filoni's creation.🙄 Season 4 time to get back to Mando & Grogu.😁

The way I look at Bo Katan, she's kind of like Canderous Ordo from KOTOR. Canderous did a lot of terrible things in his younger years, participating in the destruction and pillaging of many worlds during the Mandalorian Wars. He's killed many people, including women and children, and has done far worse things than Bo Katan. Eventually as he got older though, he grew tired of the senseless bloodshed and decided to make a change in his life.

Now wiser and more mature, he came to regret some of the things he had done, as Bo Katan no doubt has, and changed to become a better person, and eventually even became Mandalore. If Canderous can turn his life around despite all the bad things had done and become a worthy leader for his people that will lead them to a better future, I don't see why Bo Katan can't do the same.

I believe in redemption and would say that by Rebels she was more on the good yeah, for the entire season 3 of Mandalorian I was like- I know what you did in past Bo Katan and you are certainly not your sister

I would say that having great responsibility on your shoulders can change your views

Yeah, never forgot how she started, but regardless, she’s developed a lot & has redeemed herself since then.
