Bo Katan is a BAD PERSON
Показать описание
Bo Katan most recently appeared in the Mandalorian season 2 and 3 where she served as a supporting character and eventual ruler of the planet Mandalore, allowing our hero The Mandalorian Din Djarin to once again return to a life of week-by-week adventures without the burdens of rulership or the pressure of keeping the show tied to a single elongated storyline like Kenobi or Andor. The Mandalorian has really established itself as a “monster of the week adventure through the Star Wars Galaxy”, and giving the Darksaber to Bo Katan allows the show to go back to its roots, with mando taking The Child Grogu on adventures throughout the galaxy.
Before Bo Katan appeared in the Mandalorian Seasons 2 and 3 she was an animated character in the show Star Wars Rebels, where she was… again, a supporting character who was given the darksaber by a lead protagonist so that she could rule Mandalore. In that show she was believed to be of noble character and worthy to lead the Mandalorian people.
However, before that Bo Katan was an ANTAGONIST in the animated show Star Wars the Clone Wars where she served a much more… malevolent role. Prior to season 7, Bo Katan was second in command of the Mandalorian Terrorist fringe activist group known as Death Watch.
During her time with Death Watch, Bo Katan would be responsible for some of the worst atrocities seen during the Clone Wars, but here are some of the worst. In the episode “A Friend In Need” alone, we can see that Bo Katan is complicit in the occupation of Carlacc, an innocent world. The subjugation, capture, and enslavement of the indigenous population of that planet. Later, when the beaten population begged for their daughters back, Bo Katan burned their village to the ground.
Let’s not forget that Bo Katan is the person who tells Mando to find Ahsoka. This is the episode where she and Ahsoka met. Their relationship began with Bo Katan verbally objectifying Ahsoka as Lux Bontari’s little plaything, and follows the verbal harassment with the physical act of sexual assault against a minor.
It’s unclear why Filoni decided that Bo Katan should be a hero, and not a terrorist villain. It’s clear that it was around the death of Pre Vizla, and Maul’s takeover of the planet, but still her moral spectrum is so intense that I’m still not sure whether or not I should trust the character. But then, maybe that’s the point.
So the next time you think about Din Djarin giving her the Darksaber, remember who it is that now rules Mandalore.
