Rob Curto (Liberty Bellows Artist in Residence Fall 2016) wants to help your accordion get its groove back! This series is designed for all levels of players with the aim to learn a new groove style, add a melody, and apply improvisation techniques to unlock your inner composer. The online lessons are designed to supplement individual or group lessons which are offered at our store in Philadelphia or online via Skype. For more information about accordion instruction, visit our page here:

Our Artist in Residence program is an opportunity for talented accordionists to share their craft with our online and in store network. If you would like to be considered for a future appointment as an Artist in Residence, please contact us to apply. We also welcome your donations to help fund this program or other scholarships. Dude, thank you for specifying Zydeco instead of Cajun. Almost everyone outside of Southern Louisiana considers it the same. These are two very different styles of music with different influences. Good job.

When I learned to do a blues riff my teacher taught me to do everything you are teaching with my left hand.... leaving my right hand free to do a totally separate

Good video, excellent speaking voice. My only request would be a quick sample of what the music will sound like in the beginning so I have a better feel for what we're working towards. Thank you though I'll definitely be practicing this.

Hi Rob from England. I find your style excellent, so thank you for that. Some chords I have to change fingering as my fingers are big and the keys small, I hope it shouldn't screw things up...should it ? Brian

Would the be considered a beginners song? Im just learning to play the accordion and am having a little trouble getting both hands to play in sync

Awesome lesson.

Some of my bass notes are in the wrong octave though.. I have flaps/buttons on my titano that change the sound a bit, but feel I'm maybe justmissing the button that will change my setting to get the walking feeling

Only recently found the air release in the diminished button at the top 😂

Any idea?

is it an important mistake to play the F7 with my second finger on the Edescented and not the first? I think it's more comfortable..
