My mind is blown. I was always one of those guys you described in the beginning, but hearing all the things you said (especially using the reference of "words") in this video, it all suddenly makes sense!

Looking forward to the course Justin.  I started playing guitar in my 50's.  Cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate what you have provided.  I did Marty Schwartz's course for a year, then your Beginner, Intermediate and Blues courses...all in the hopes I could play along with my favorite blues albums.  What an enjoyable ride it has been thus far.  Hope you will find time in your schedule to hit the east-coast in the States some time.  Thanks for all.

You know Justin. I've been playing for 14 years now and after a 2 year break I'm looking to get back into playing again, and I've never heard somebody explain music like this before. It's beautiful man, great job!

+JustinGuitar, this is exactly what I needed to learn at my stage of guitar! I have been learning scales but I really want to shred, to pick up a guitar and make a few phrases that make me feel like a guitar player (instead of just a scale learner.) Thanks for doing this!

Justin! I’m a almost 70 year old who is not grasping the guitar. I’ve tried quite a few players who claim to teach guitar but always end up at square one, that being they get you started playing guitar but end up showing how great they can shred. Doesn’t do me one bit of good. I’ve spent quite a bit of money and time trying to learn yet always end up being frustrated and wanting to quit. A period of time goes by and I get determined I’m going to learn guitar. It’s a never ending ordeal and I always end up back at square one.
Now, I’m frustrated as hell because I know the chords and the licks but nothing makes sense anymore. I have bits and pieces of how to play but I get confused or I don’t comprehend licks!
I would never have wrote this but I’m at wits end. I know I’m over the hill but I still have desire to learn if I can find the right person to help. Plus, I just ordered a Sire S7 FM to keep me motivated.
Do you have any idea what I’m trying to say?

The way you explain things and justify reasons for doing things has been so helpful in the development and understanding of my playing. Thanks Justin

One of the things I appreciate from great teachers / players like you is that you take away the mystery or fog of understanding for a new learning player. Not only does it help us learn faster but it reinforces the joy of playing! Thank you for the great videos!!!

This is a great way of explaining blues soloing. It is a conversation of sorts. A guitar buddy of mine recommended that I listen to how I speak, then use that as a way of phrasing my solos. We all have a unique cadence when we speak (which is why impressionists can imitate celebrities etc.). By doing this you create a "voice" that is unique to you, but in a language everyone understands.

Very perceptive point about "making words out of the alphabet", the phrases that we hear in everyday blues is a "language" that we have all absorbed".

Hi Justin I'm a guitar teacher from Melb, just want to say I think your absolutely brilliant in your playing & your teaching. Your such a credit to the guitar world & I quite often use your videos in my lessons & I've put many of my students onto you.

I also think the way you convey your message or learning in the videos is so professional & natural, your talking like you would someone in the flesh as opposed to just a camera. This is a very difficult skill that many people don't understand.

My wife is from the UK & we'll be moving there in a year or 2 & I would really like to have some lessons with you if possible in the future.

Cheers Ben.
