Thanks for the update. Creature and Chocolate offer fiberglass reinforced decks as well.

Napalm custom makes carbon fiber decks with reinforced tips to prevent razor tailing. Their decks last very long too.

I use #6 lock washers around the screws so they don't poke through, but yeah, thats the only thing I don't like about the flight decks. Otherwise, I love them! I love and appreciate you, what you do, and what you put out there, your skating, and your vibes! I'd love to see you get sponsored and have your own flight deck. Keep doing what you're doing!

this deck has an 14.375" WB ;) The Santa Cruz VX decks I've tried had a similar pop but the kicks are a lot steeper than Powell Flight decks

Have you skated any Creature Stump boards with the shorter wheelbase, I'm on my second one and I love them

For me that is all I skate anymore. It’s between the flight deck and the VX. Because they last so long compared to a regular wooden board. With the rails, I use drywall screws and break off the extra that comes through then grip the board.

Stage 4s for life! Get the 166 9" ! Only a teeny narrower than the 169.

The self tapping wood screws that come with rails have that pointed tip, and on such thin ply, that doesn't leave much real thread to bite into it. I'm thinking next time i'll pre-drill, and use blunt wood screws (basically like coarse-threaded machine screws).

Andy Anderson said it’s normal for the screws to stick out a little bit on flight decks. I screw in the hardware first then setup the grip tape.

for the rails, you could screw them in before putting on the grip, then sand down the screw tips. Kind of a pain, but that might be an elegant solution to a minor problem. Thank you for the review and everything you do, wishing you the best in 2024.

That’s the 244 fight shape, right? Have you checked out the 249 shape? I really like it. A little more rounded out and not as popsicley.

I skate flight decks size 8 or 8.25. both are cozy for me
I like the shorter wheel base. I also use rails, creates consistent slise. 53 mm wheels. Ive been skating the dragons. Love them a ton cause 95 percent of my time is spent street skating. Indi mid 144, swiss bones. Thats my set up. I love Powell Peralta.. so maybe I'm to bias

Nice vidéo, you talk also about VX deck. They have really différent shape, the 8.51 and 8.53 are not steep like the Wooten 8.5. They are more like a normal kind of kicks(not too steep) and for sure the tail and nose are not the same. I think they called that kind of shape 3D(more mellow) versus the ATV(steep). I broke board really fast and im really interested about tougher decks because with 3 kids i cannot spend all that money on decks.

You can always sand down the razor tail with some sandpaper.. (I like to call it shape-shifting) Really just turns any board into a strange Toy Machine shape. (Which only give you more pop) 🐰✌️

Im sure the flight deck has come a long way compared to the old bonite they had. That stuff would absorb water and flake out when it chipped.

flight decks are bruiser boards. they get beat up a lot, but are still in the fight.
