Day 8 - Shamrock Cottage Days Out | Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail | Stairway to Heaven | Garrison

One of Fermanagh most popular walks The Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail also known as the Stairway to Heaven takes approximately 3 hours. The route meanders through one of the largest expanses of blanket bog in Northern Ireland, traversing over tracks, boardwalk and staircase. A steep climb is required to reach the viewing platform.

The picturesque village of Garrison is located on the shores of Lough Melvin. The Melvin is home to the famous yet illusive Gilaroo Fish, a rare species of trout. The Roogagh River is one of the main tributaries for Lough Melvin. It flows through Garrison and offers a gentle walk in the village.
