Day 4 - Shamrock Cottage Days Out | Ely Lodge Forest | Monea Castle | Pollnagollum Cave | Portora

Ely Lodge Forest is part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark and features Carrickreagh Viewpoint Walk. Walks can be accessed by both land and water as the forest is located on the southern fringes of Lower Lough Erne.

Monea Castle was built for Malcolm Hamilton and completed in 1618, with a strong Scottish influence it has two imposing full-height round towers.

Pollnagollum Cave featured in the Game of Thrones. The Pollnagollum/ Coolarkan Cave Walk can be accessed through wonderful Belmore Forest and is part of Fermanagh’s Boho cave country.

Portora Castle is adjacent to the school that educated Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett. It is strategically positioned by the narrow exit of the River Erne into the Lower Lough Erne.
