Always seemed odd to me when Taylor's "Wildest Dreams" (2014) was a **direct** lift of the melody and arrangement from Lana Del Rey's "Without You" (2011). Studied music my whole life. Work in recording industry and classically trained. Sampling Is not the same as interpolation. sampling is using part of a pre-recorded track and requires permission (and usually a fee) before a song is published. interpolation is closer to inspiration and can include re-recording part of a melody from a different song and does not require giving any financial credit. Nobody owns chords, if Taylor Swift called me up and said I needed to give her credit due to chords I would laugh in her face. jack antonoff literally said he and taylor did not ask for any sort of credit it was just given to them by olivia's team and olivia's team probably decided to just give them credit because this was AFTER the paramore thing so they maybe didn't want to cause any more attention by giving them credit. some swifties were also sending hate towards olivia which is most likely why she distanced herself from taylor because she wanted to be seen as her own artist.

I like Taylor and her music, but I 100% believe that she feels threatened and competitive easily, she puts her self worth in her career and that she 100% was trying to compete with Olivia. I think Taylor is a very insecure person, at the end of the day, and a self-proclaimed narcissist. She has issues. It should be obvious to everyone at this point that Taylor only cares about women’s issues when it directly affects her. Otherwise, she will stomp on women. She’s done it before.
