As a lifelong “car guy” all I can say is “heartbreaking”……….😢

I know the guy who owned those cars. His name is Mark. I was not far from there when the fire came. I lost a 1929 Model A, but I feel more for Mark and the rest of Altadena. At the rate I was going on my car, it would not have been road worthy before 2050. Mark's track record is another story. He has my condolences

I can’t imagine the art and collectables that were destroyed, so sorry for all their loss and grief.

I just love classic cars, this breaks my heart as for the years it takes to restore these classics just all gone.

I have four Oldsmobile Toronados. I have known Mark for over thirty years. As down to earth as you will ever find, trustworthy and the definition of "friend" even when you haven't seen one another for four years or more.

Amanda Starantino is a very good reporter! And without a script! People who are supremely good at something make a difficult task seem so easy anyone can do it. Until the average person tries.

That Oldsmobile she mentioned is a Toronado. That was one sweeeet, sleek machine. Front wheel drive and all.
I still want one

Thank you for recognizing the role cars play in our lives - they are an extension of our freedom to move about and a museum of memories. While they never can equate to life - they play an important role in our lives and in this case are irreplaceable when destroyed. I do not live in CA but have been glued to the TV watching the horror and tragedy - my heart and prayers go out to all who have lost so much - this will be very difficult to recover from. I hope this never happens again and that many lessons are learned (directed at the CA government). Props to the firefighters and first responders / family and friends comforting those who've lost so much.

She really knows her cars! She is right, you can rebuild a new house but you cannot make a new 1940s car.

As a vintage car owner from Mexico City my heart and condolences go out to Mark for the insurmountable tragedy losing his car collection to that stupid fire must have been.

I knew it was a matter of time before we'd start hearing about classics being lost... such a damn shame.

The second car you walked past is a Subaru SVX. Less than 700 left in existence

I told my wife just yesterday that I would probably be more upset to see the burned out hulks of my cars and motorcycles than seeing the burned out hulk of my house. That is sad seeing the remains of those cars.

Um, this lady knows her cars... Impressive
Keep in mind the owner preserving the cars ? The nieghbors probably hated him.

Obviously Amanda is a classic car fan. She did a great job on this report showing the damages to not only the homes, but those irreplaceable cars. It's sad for the loss of lives, pets, homes and memories. Heartbreaking for sure.

Good job reporting, most reporters wouldnt know a Chevy station wagon from a tri-axel dump truck.

The reporter's car knowledge is outstanding. Sorry for the loss of these classics as I have owned several myself in the past.
