Remember : This is not a classic Dracula. This is raw and evil representation of folktale vampire. Really dark and disturbing.

This Orlock is the most coldest monstrous Dracula type I've ever seen. This film is a MUST SEE. He was evil as hell. The ending scene with the music nearly had me in tears, seriously.

Dont go into this film expecting the dracula story. Eggers vowed to make it his own, and he NAILED it.

For everyone comparing this to Dracula. It is not. The Nosferatu vampire is only driven by hunger. To essentially feed on blood. It cannot walk in the sunlight or be anywhere near it. In fact that alone will kill it. It also has no desire to change humans into vampires. Simply to kill them to satiate it's hunger. It has limited telekinetic powers compared to Dracula. Dracula on the other hand is far more suave taking on many different forms from a handsome human to an animal when need be. He also wants to expand his army by changing humans into vampires. He is far more powerful in his abilities to overcome his victims. From mind speaking to stares of persuasion. Noferatu relies on rats to spread his disease. The bite from his fangs is typically lethal and kills rather than transforms. He's a walking infection. So those are some of the main differences between the two.

Many of the past vampire tropes were skipped over. No undead brides, resurrection scenes, no romantic vampires. Very no nonsense horror film. Lilly gave a great performance.

That opening sequence for this film was one of my favorite horror film openings of 2024 and also in my list was The Substance and Longlegs.

One would not think that it is possible in the year 2024 to be properly scared, with everyone being so oversaturated. But oh no, it WAS terrifying.

Eggers’ film is a reinterpretation of an early 20th century (1922) silent film: Nosferatu: a symphony of horror. This original film was intended as an adaptation of Stoker’s novel Dracula. However, Stoker’s estate refused to license the character. So the filmmakers changed core aspects of the character while maintaining the basic story structure.

With this in mind, anyone making the Dracula comparison is not far off. Watch the Dead Meat Kill Count of the original 1922 film of you’re interested.

The Dark and The heard little to no one talk about this movie and it is absolutely terrifying . It deserves alot more recognition . Peace and love from Ireland 🇮🇪
