Hi guys! I did some research and I wanted to share what I found.

The average level of testosterone in men is in the low 400 nanograms or 350 nanograms (depending on age). The average level of testosterone in the female body is around 15 - 46 nanograms. During menstruation, hormone levels fluctuate, this includes testosterone, to aid in smooth going reproductive health. Testosterone levels tend to peak around the middle of your period, which can cause mood swings, but hormone levels typically never rise to hundreds. On a separate note, testosterone is found to cause mood changes in both sexes. Do with that information as you wish, I'm not going to draw conclusions. Have a good day! ❤️

Also I found most of this information from The National Institution of Health.

Fun fact: Testosterone is a precursor to estrogen. If a man has excess testosterone, the body will convert it into estrogen. So too much testosterone will not make a man more masculine, quite the opposite.

Menstruation is caused by the sudden drop in all female hormones and gonadotropins, so it makes sense that we act very strangely, not as you would expect from a woman.

A little knowledge of physiology would put an end to sexism.

It doesn't rise anywhere near male levels, BUT since our levels are so low the testosterone spike causes bad mood swings and uncontrollable bouts of anger. It's also the reason you have an "ugly week" in your cycle. The testosterone spikes cause you to perceive yourself differently. You lose your glow and get very puffy!

"Fun" fact: Men's testorone also rises and drops & with other hormonal fluctuations it can can cause things like mood swings, anxiety or irritation which are similar to what happens with women during period. And middle aged men may experience andropause which is analogical to female menopause.

But it is not that girls act more like boys on period - it is because hormones flactuate not because it is more testosterone. Men with high & stable testosterone have less mood swings or irritableness.

Female hormonal levels are so fascinating. ✨ So basically when a woman is ovulating her hormonal levels are at her peak (estrogen and progesterone). The woman feels amazing- glowing skin, good mood, feeling invincible.

Right before the period starts the hormonal levels reach their minimum. The woman experiences PMS- irritation, mood swings, puffiness, the whole world is crappy and sad.

So basically these hormones are like drugs for women - the more the better. I once said read a study that found out women during their PMS are like drug addicts without drugs or alcoholics without their drink, which explains a lot. 😂

I just would really hope men could understand....😢

As a trans person whove had both testosterone and estrogen. Cis men will never fully be able to understand why women sometimes are more emotional and women will never be able to understand why men seem to not care. Its like explaining red to a blind person. How its like to not have those emotions or hormones

No, we don't act more "like a boy". And our PMS symptoms is more related to the rise of progesterone. Our testosterone increases AFTER the period and peaks just before ovulation, just as our estrogen.

Heh, I guess not all women may experience some mental health problems whenever they have their periods. They certainly may have the ability to act more like boys but still keep their girl genes though ❤
