Between this, the studio video and the main waveform content, I'm loving all of this David content!

I was a salesman at a Verizon store for about 5 years and in my experience the ZFolds were almost exclusively used by people who ran multiple small businesses and realtors. I was in a relatively small town, but we sold maybe 25 between the Fold and the Fold4

The fact that Samsung already have 5 versions of this foldable and looks outdated compared to OnePlus' First foldable makes it awesome on the first try. I don't care if it's Oppo and "debatable first". These guys are just nit-picking on that "dead pixel" they mentioned. Well, OnePlus have the Care program just like Apple. OnePlus also has instant replacement service. You can definitely tell bias when you see one. (Face-palm) i hope it's "respectful enough".

When I first saw this Phone I instantly bought it. I am a Fold 2 Fold 3 Fold 4 and Fold 5 User and in Love with this OnePlus Open. The Price is fair with those preorder Deals. Time will show the durability but OnePlus will definitly take care of the consumers. Big Respect to OPPO/OnePlus. Thanks for the Video.

This is a very nice looking folding phone, like Marques said you can tell OPPO's design language is all over this, even down to the Hasselblad lens

Pretty much every YouTuber that mocked the black Oneplus Open missed the point. That fake leather is emulating the look of old analog cameras.
With that being said, the phone actually looks very cool.

I love your self-control. Any other channel would have made an entire video about those dead pixels and blew it up way more than necessary.

200$ credit for any trade in phone is a masterstroke from OnePlus! Someone with an old phone would be inclined to think of trading in a very basic phone (for 200$) and getting a modern phone for 1500$! No one else would give them 200$ for their old phone!!

A foldable will never be the same price as the regular flagship cause it has more parts. If you have the same processor and camera and whatever on both phones, you have to pay for an additional screen, an addition internal camera, and the whole hinge assembly that you don’t have to pay for on the flagship.

As one of those people... If I paid 1500 I would pay 1700... For me that price range I am already committed to a premium price point.... Now I will say the 200 off and the free pro earbuds do give me the talking point of impression of "value".

Well, here in EU the Iphone 15 Pro 512GB is almost 1600. Oneplus open is 1900 with 250e off coupon + free wireless headphones. So basically 1650. One way to look at it. Of course you can now get a z fold 5 for like 1200?
The problem is that you can get your Apple or Samsung fixed in no time. And that's even more important with a folding phone. A friend had z flip 4 with a peeling screen protector. It was fixed quickly at the Samsung store while going for a coffee...

This is not the thinnest foldable out there but something about it being lightweight, oneplus, oxygenos, the slick looking design and the way they implemented multitasking with open canvas makes me want to buy it.
My last oneplus was the 7pro and i enjoyed it and oxygen os

I think they've forgotten that the phone also has costs like marketing and distribution. Then there's the fact that One+ included a fast charger, cable, and other bits and pieces. Lastly, there's the packaging.

Suffice to say, there are additional costs beyond just hardware and research.

Oppo does have a device recycling program, so it's possible OnePlus gets some sort of deal on production if they recycle as many devices as they create??

Love your video! The unbias analysis made me a fan! What urks my soul about some bloggers and media about this phone compared to the oneplus open...umm...WE DO REMEMBER THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE OUTSIDE SCREEN ISN'T TO GIVE YOU A BIG SCREEN. IT DOES WHAT IT'S SUPPOSE TO AND WHEN YOU REALLY NEED TO MULTI-TASK AND ALL THAT JAZZ, YOU OPEN TO THE BIGGER SCREEN 🤦🤦‍♀️Who will buy a folding phone that they don't need to open? 🤔🤔🤔

All good but there is too much chat around the dead pixels. Would have loved to hear more on the cameras

There is now a comprehensive update released for the Open. Please revisit the Open in a month or two and please, please consider not "reviewing" new devices at launch given most people who buy them will likely have a different experience as a result of post-launch updates.

Maybe midrange foldables could become a thing and therefore compete with flagship "normal" phones. This is the when people have to decide between specs and form factor. The really interesting question is: what do people want from their phone? Camera? Screen real estate? Battery life? Good value?

Maybe the dead pixels are just bad luck in this case. No YouTuber that I know had sth comparable. In recent years I had as well many flagships that had some problems, for example Huawei mate 20 pro dead pixels.

I loved the design and the size of this phone but I hope the dead pixels problem not be in all units
