I first want to say that this documentary is phenomenal. Now Is there somewhere where i can learn the piano music in the introduction where is shows all the names and magic items.

This looks wonderful! In my mind magic "feels" like this trailer looks, elegant and dripping with antiquity and tradition. I started performing as a magician, and although as a young man I quickly identified the trend mentioned in the interviews, saw that it was going to be very hard to be taken seriously and refocused my efforts, I have always had a love for the art form especially when it is done well. Magicians can be some of the greatest showmen and women on any stage. I love documentaries on this subject and will seek this one out for sure.

The one thing an audience can never appreciate is how HARD magic is to do well.  They don't know what's really going on because magic happens in secret.  If you watch a singer people can appreciate the natural talent that comes from the individual, or if they see an acrobat they "get it" and understand the work and difficulty involved to achieve perfection.  There are so many things surrounding magic, audience management, skills, construction of plots and all of this is mostly unknown and unappreciated by the audience.  They may applaud the effect.  But they can't applaud the work behind it because  they don't really know.  They can never know because if they do then there is no magic.

Everyone can appreciate a good comedian or performer.  

But they can't really appreciate the skill behind what is really happening.  They don't know everything that is coming togethr at once and how the mind has to think through on so many levels to make this thing called magic happen and look so wonderful and flawless.

I am awful at magic but absolutely love it and appreciate the people who can do this, who can perform miracles--because not everyone can.

I look forward to seeing this film.
