The Santa Fe has been the SUV in Hyundai's lineup the longest. For 2021 they decided to bring some big upgrades to this platform. On the outside of our Calligraphy trim you will find and all new unique grill, front fascia, wheels, and rear bumper. On the inside you will be greeted to Nappa leather seats, new infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. Is the updated 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe a better SUV than the new Kia Sorento?

Tomorrow I'll be going to the dealership to pick up this exact car, down to the color. I'm blown away that Joe is basically doing a review of my new car.

Just bought a 2022 hyundai santa fe limited hybrid. Seriously best car ever. We test drove and researched over 10+ cars. Hyundai is in a league of its own. Plus a 10 year 100, 000 mile warranty to throw in the mix.

Joe Raiti, I bought a 2021 Santa Fe Limited 3 weeks ago for myself because I love my wife’s 2020 Santa Fe limited so much.

My biggest zonk is that it doesn’t have a designated sunglasses holder. Of course the 2020 does have it though.

I can live without the HUD since they made that exclusive to the Calligraphy, but I do love that from my wife’s 2020 limited. So I do miss it.

But other than those 2 things I think my 2021 is a superior suv. Much more power, much more luxurious cabin. More tech.

Major plus for the limited trim of the Santa Fe is the rear seat built in sun shades. A must for kids.
This was actually the very reason I bought a second Santa Fe over the 2022 Tucson.
I love the Tucson, but no sun shades even on the top trim.

Absolutely loving what Hyundai is doing. Enough so to own two brand new Santa Fe’s (White and Portafino Grey).

I like the interior on Santa Fe better than sorento…….but I like exterior styling on sorento better than Santa Fe.
That 2.5 turbo seems to be in everything. Thanks Joe and Lori!!! Best channel on YouTube 😃

I've got mine 1 week now. Mine come with 20in wheels. I also have a 2021 palisade calligraphy and the Santa Fe calligraphy has better tech. The driver assist is better and also feel more powerful. Only one thing missing on these two SUVs sunglasses Holder. The ventilator sits on the Santa Fe is not as cold as the palisade. I just got both of them within 2 months.

The Santa Fe and Sorento are both nice vehicles. I like the exterior of the Sorento and the interior of the Santa Fe. Thanks for sharing it Joe. Nice review and good job Lori! Hope the storm doesn’t hit you too hard. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Have had my 2021 Limited for 3 months now and it's a great car. Headed out on a 3, 000+ mile road trip on Weds and my back is currently f'd, so hope the comfy seat is good for 12 hour driving days with a bad back!

I did cross shop both vehicles, but for whatever reason, Kia is currently rather backordered whereas I was able to secure an inbound Calligraphy that was just a couple of weeks out. I've had two loaded Tellurides and loved them. My local Kia dealership is awesome. But I need a car right now, so Kia wasn't an option. That said, I was impressed enough with test driving a low end Santa Fe to order the Calligraphy unseen. I also don't need a third row as this is a secondary vehicle for me.

We bought the limited AWD for 38 grand. I think it’s a great car for that price. It has lots of interior room and a very smooth and quiet ride. Would definitely recommend it. 😎

Joe, good review of the SF Calligraphy. I test drove this and the Sorento SX Prestige X line and I thought the screen size was 10.25 inches in both? No matter, leased a Venza Limited for the mpg., looks and Toyota quality. After a couple of months with the Venza, I’m starting to have a little buyers remorse. Coming from a Kia product, I miss the simplicity and design of ALL the interior functions. In the Kia/Hyundai, they look better and are seamless to use compared to to a Toyota product. Not to mention the Koreans have figured out how to simulate tactile feel and luxury of their interiors. The Venza will have to do and the mpg(42 in town) is outstanding. Hopefully in time, I can get used to the haphazard layout of the Venza. But for nearly the same $ MSRP, I probably should have gone with the SF. Happy holidays.
