Thank you Steve, I've just discovered your channel and working my way through your back catalogue.
I love your videos and how simply you explain the musical concepts.

Look forward to the next video

Hear that folks? He does that everyday 7:41. You have to find some time DAILY to just sit and freestyle on your guitar even for 5 minutes. That’s the key to getting comfortable with it and mastering the instrument. Know your scales and practice them up and down the neck at your pace; not necessarily in note order, but just freestyle. You’ll be amazed at how good you’ll get if you do that.

Thanks for the ideas, I think it's important to pick up your guitar everyday, even if you only have a few minutes to play..

Steve Steve 😭😭😭 Heeeelllp!! I have been struggling with a problem for years! Whenever I play a fast paced song, I will always stumble at the part where the snare are doing fast off beats. For example, take a song at say, 130 BPM. Looking at it in 1/8th notes (1 e and a), the kick hits at the "1" and "and" and the snare hits at "e" and "a". Whether I'm playing rhythm or lead, I start following the snare as the downbeat. Even if the cymbals and kick are playing on the downbeats, the snare overpowers their pulse for me and I simply can't lock in! How do I tackle this problem?

I've been playing for years and something as basic as keeping time is giving me trouble. It's really discouraging.

I'd rather be an average player with expert music theory, than an expert player with average music theory
