Liselle I am so sorry to hear this! Hugs. Glad you have some supports in place, though. And also bless Canada.

I understand so much!!! The hotel I work at is one of the hotels closing in the area because of the virus. I have enough to survive for the next two months or so. Hopefully by that time things has slow down enough that the hotel can open again.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Liselle <3 Way to stay positive and productive (as much as you can).

augh, that's so rough. I hope the full time writing life (unwitting though it may be) at least treats you well in the middle of that low-level stress. i did in fact subscribe, but not as a pity subscribe, as you say!! I just like your vibe on camera and your voice!! keep it up 💕

Oh man, I'm so sorry Liselle. That really blows. I actually became a full-time author by accident too, when I was quarantined...but weirdly, it was ten years ago! I was living overseas teaching ESL and I got tuberculosis and subsequently lost my job. Bright side: I finished my first novel and got my first freelance writing gig! It's scary and tough though - I'm so glad you have a great support system and you can focus on your books. :)

Hello there! Nice to find a fellow Canadian writer. I've just subbed 😀 good luck with everything.

I'm in the same position as you! In fact, I was changing jobs. Had quit the one and was supposed to start the new job which was then cancelled. I'm lucky to have a partner who's employed and working from home and we'll be fine - but it's not something I ever imagined happening. I keep thinking now's my chance to finish that first draft but I haven't been able to write a single word for two weeks. I'm spending my time shuffling around the house, eating too much and obsessing over Covid-19 updates on Twitter - which I'm realizing does not help. I turned to this channel for inspiration so thank you, it's exactly what I needed to hear:)

Same as me!! Had a new job lined up but bc of pandemic they are holding off now from hiring me, definitely trying to write now, but also not putting pressure on myself to be productive here too. Wishing you the best!

I'm really sorry this happened to you. This situation is effecting all industries, I work in retail and recently got laid off the job. I admire your positivity and love how transparent you are. Stay strong and write on! <3

Good on you for having such a positive outlook! I live in a major tourism hub and everything is shut down. I haven't been laid off yet, but there might not be much more need for admins soon. So seeing this kind of positivity is really helpful. I hope all is well aside from the obvious and that you stay safe and healthy!

I'm on lockdown for at least another 11 weeks, and carrying on a normal writing wise. I have revisions to start next month as well as my regular schedule but it's been stressful. I'm sorry you lost your job that sucks! Just take care and be kind to yourself!

So glad that you have support structures and that this time can be one of exploration even if it's also scary and uncertain. Good luck and I hope everything works out!

I'm a teacher (w/o kids of my own) and so I'm fortunate enough to have long periods of free time during breaks to work on my own stuff. I will say that even when those breaks don't have the stress or uncertainty of this period, I often find that I don't really write *that* much more in the summer than when I manage to make myself get up in the morning and write before school.

So sorry this happened to you! But glad you have some support in place. Hopefully you can make the most out of accidentally being a full-time author and hopefully this is over soon so we can all go back to some normalcy!

I'm trying to be grateful for having even a part-time job, but it's customer service, so the stress of potentially contracting this thing is really screwing with me. But my main job is no-go at the moment (it will hopefully be there when this is over, but no promises)

So instead I am trying to write, work on future kids books, draft article, be present on social media, AND -

Youtube! I finally got up the courage to get in front of a camera, sort of. It's mostly yours and Kate Cavanaugh's fault just so you know, so I fully blame you guys for my descent into this weird wormhole of madness.

Cheers to the insanity and best of luck with the writing! Welcome to our side of the craziness :D

The time thing is kinda funny, because I was without a job for 6 months. And during that time I was less productive (in writing. Which was about 2000 word/day) than I had been when I was working full time as a teacher (that's about 45-55 hours/week).

I love that you said pitty subscribe lol... I think I might have to use that one if you don't mind because I just recently started my channel so that was a gimmick I did not consider lol... Love your videos!
