I remember when I was explaining a math question to my friend at my house because we were studying together, I explained it five times just because I know she usually doesn't understand the first two times. Then she stared at me blankly, so I repeated it again in two different ways, I even wrote the steps on a piece of paper. She laughed and apologized and asked me to explain again because she didn't understand why fractions can't be added straight across if the denominator isn't the same. So i explained it four more times, and drew three visual representations, and she understood. But then, she didn't understand how to make it the same, even though I explained it. So i elaborated even further, and tried to make it more simple. After an hour and a half, I explained in in how my tuition teacher taught me and how the teacher taught me. Another hour, meaning two and a half hours, I got frustrated, walked out my room and watched anime for half an hour for a break and returned to see her adding fractions straight across.
