He's known for going big but this was something else. Alastair Cook showed his extreme powers of concentration and mental strength, as he struck his highest ever Test score of 294 against India. Cook's knock lasted 13 hours and was the 6th highest innings by in English batsmen in history. Can he repeat such form this time around?

Cook was never the kind of player for a highlights reel of fours and sixes. Cook was the kind of player that you would sit and watch for an hour, as he nudges a nurdles ones and twos without a care. Then you looked at the scoreboard and realised that you'd been there for four hours and he'd scored 50 without you noticing. My favourite batsman of the modern era.

Sir Alastair Cook was an awesome batsman. He didn't celebrate more. He is a decent and kind person. Cook is one of my favourite English batsmen. He scored more than 12k runs. His batting style is very good. Andrew Strauss is a perfect batting pair for Cook. Both players are great openers for England. But now we can't watch their batting because they are retired.
