REASONS YOU SHOULD NOT MOVE TO NIGERIA | MOVING TO NIGERIA FROM UK 2021 | WHY YOU SHOULDN'T MOVE TO NIGERIA | NIGERIA IS NOT FOR YOU | MOVING BACK TO NIGERIA FROM UK | MOVING BACK TO NIGERIA | I REGRET MOVING BACK TO NIGERIA FROM UK
I know we are all aware of how bad Nigeria governments are, we know Nigeria is a country with the worst leaders (Governments and Presidents) that do not care about its citizens, so I did not really talked about that in this video because that clearly is not something new, but there are other strong reasons you should have a second thought before you move to Nigeria or have an holiday in Nigeria, but these bad things are a result of what the bad governances has left in Nigeria, those are things I have mentioned in this video, but there are obviously more but these things are essential for living and surviving in Nigeria because you do not want to end up getting into illegal things just to survive in Nigeria as many are already doing.

DISCLAIMER:
I am a full born Nigerian, raised in Nigeria and I am very well aware of how good and bad Nigeria could be; it is just sad that after moving out for years, and now going back, I expect the country to have gotten better with all the civilisation, instead it is getting worse, and this is why I am having to make this video but NOTE, I love my beautiful country Nigeria, if we and the governments work on the things I have mentioned in this video, then we should be fine to move to Nigeria with beautiful cultures.

Let’s here your thoughts below, and what other reasons would you have for one not to move to Nigeria because there are definitely more?

You're in the UK and you think UK is any better than Nigeria? Until you get it you wouldn't appreciate how blessed and wonderful Nigeria is. UK is also expensive & designed just for you to live for today. The subtle racism, the marginalization, the benefits that keeps you impoverish, the tiny roads, the old ragged houses you call flats, the police profiling, the work place discrimination & lots more, and you think UK is better? Until you become a bit older & go through he system, you wouldn't appreciate Nigeria.

I'm from California, US. I've been in Nigeria since April 2023. My first trip here was for 3 weeks. I relocated here because my husband is Nigerian and loves his country. He doesn't want to leave. Im also % yoruba & wanted to connect to my roots. However, I'm struggling with the transition. I don't want to compare Nigeria to US, so I've been trying to be chill & humble, which I'm managing quite well according to my husband & inlaws but it's not easy at all, and i do cry occasionally out of frustration. These things mentioned in this video are real, just be aware & do your research. In addition, my list would include:

-it's costly & the $ goes quick af
-it's loud af
-it's dirty af, ppl just litter & there's no real waste management or recycling
-I'm not a fan of eating the food everyday, very unhealthy diet & lots of sugar & spice
-roads are very bad
-corruption, scams & bribery
-very poor customer service
-some ppl can be very rude & have no concept of personal space, boundaries or manners
-limited food & grocery options, especially fresh & healthy
-no1 is ever on time, so you wait & wait & wait
-it's hot af all day & night
-electricity & water goes in/out
-generators are loud af
-petro is expensive
-you order something, and they give you what they want to give you & there's no refunds or changes made (had this happen at a bar, restaurant, salon and getting a dress made)
-the effects of colonialism & tribalism is alive
‐some ppl only look out for themselves and will screw you over
-people are very religious, often making them close-minded & not thinking for themselves
-traveling w/in Nigeria & Africa is expensive af
-if you don't sound or look like a local they'll tell you ²-3x the price, and then when your local friend or family ask they get a much cheaper price
-making genuine friends will not be easy b/c everyone wants something, they'll even set you up so you have to move discreetly & with caution
-they harrass you to leave 5 stat reviews even when they didn't deliver 5 star service, so be cautious of reviews
-i honestly believe there's money here but d/t government corruption they're keeping the people poor & stealing/selling the resources
-there's no real investment back into the people or country, which is sad af & stiffles development

I studied abroad in Ghana, and I didn't have such a tough transition. I mean there's some similarities with certain things, but if you had to choose, go to Africa, come to Ghana, S. Africa or somewhere else, unless you can truly live at at standard that none of these things would be an issue for you Nigeria.

I know USA isn't perfect & has it's issues too, but the more I'm here in Nigeria i appreciate the US and being an African American. I had always dreamed of living in Africa but this just ain't the welcome "home" i expected. Hell, I don't even feel welcomed tbh. I just feel like a $.

I am moving to Nigeria regardless... UK is way worse, WAY more expensive and crime rate there has been soaring for years especially robberies and stabbings even random acid attacks. I was born and raised in UK and hate it. Also America housing crisis and inflation is unbelievable, my 2 bedroom rent has DOUBLED!!!! everyone rent in America has doubled and American people don't believe in Marriage so good luck ever finding husband

*I see so many videos of single girls with £3000, thinking that because they are above the living standards of the average person in Nigeria, that's all it takes. I knew a fake girl who thought that just because she thought she had a good name for a make up company ( "exquisita" ), that that is all she needed to succeed.*

*I think that the first thing anyone should do is take your time before relocating.*

*Buy a land. Fence it. And build a home and possibly a space where you can run your business without having to pay rent.*

*If you have a building, you can reserve part of it for tenants so that at least you are guaranteed a rent . This minimises your need to find money. Solar for your own building or flat saves you the stress of being without light and insulated you from the cost or scarcity of diesel. A borehole guarantees you a constant source of water and if need be you can sell it for a source of income.*

*You have to build "channels" that drive money towards you rather than buy things that take money away from you.*

*Building a structure is probably the best insurance or insulation against people who seek to push you around. Let them try and push your house with you in it. It also gives you a good standing with the bank to access loans if you need to.*

*I think that you are also out of touch with reality. You talked about "homophobia". If you have accepted that fake and impractical way of life, then you are obviously having problems managing your own expectations of what is necessary for a good standard of living . You need to be realistic. Is homophobia the problem of an average Nigerian talk less an African?*

*Also, if you are in the league of those who have built a structure, through your investment, you are probably already in the league of those who are connected. It becomes a lot easier to meet army generals, and senior officers or government officials. They respect the fact that they can probably gain something from you rather them seeing you as someone who is looking to get something from them. "Packaging", or perception is so important.*

*I think that your stay in the west has completely messed up the way you understand things. African women who relocate to the UK and USA always change with their new found circumstances. That way of life is deceptive. You need to realise that all those things that you learned abroad are illusions. Trust me. I know. I was born in the UK and grew up there . I first returned to Nigeria aged 23. I stayed for 10 years doing law school and then working. Having met my future wife, I returned to the UK knowing now what I needed to do when earning sterling money abroad. I now own a school in Abuja, Nigeria . We are hoping to return this coming year in order to avoid having to take the vaccination. Plan well. Be realistic.*

*For recreation I have learned that it is very important to firstly have it for your own sanity. And secondly to hang out in places where you make acquaintances of people who can better your life instead of places where people will drain you.*

You lie.

Nigeria is one of the cheapest places in the world, reason why wages are so low.

A 50 cl of coke sells for $0.25 in Nigeria, while in the US, it sells for about $2.5

Hahaha! you are 100% correct, Nigerians need to be more polite, more considerate & more hardworking & honest... but you need to STOP COMPARING NIGERIA TO THE UK. Britain is a white man's country, they literally traveled thousands of miles to captures and enslave black people for 400yrs to build Britain to where it is today, they also stole trillions from Africa to ensure the system is where it is today in Britain... Also Britain owes 19trillion dollars in external debt and all the facilities in Britain are based on credit.

African countries have no access to credit, the world bank and IMF starve Africa of developmental funds!!!
Africa & Nigeria is what it is today because of Britain, Europe & America... So, no need to be a too hard on Nigeria! You have to understand that it's your job as black people to uplift the countries in Africa. Take money from European countries & go and build Africa. The UK is not your home & it will never be!!!

Sister they are not smiling because of the environment in which they find themselves! Your environment is super different ok. You have job protection but their bosses can just replace them any time without notice.

Well its quite obvious how less informed you are about Nigeria, in as much as other countries including the UK that you speak of, also have these problems and even more worse than Nigeria, you can't compare Nigeria to UK, for whatsoever reason you have in your head. How was UK when she was 60? Now compare England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at 60 with Nigeria at 60, that's the right way to make true comparison. Wondering what you can buy with #56, 000? Give it to a Nigerian that needs it. You can't come to Nigeria and live large and expect your cost of living to be cheap. Cost of transportation is high? That's because you're using Bolt, Uber and the likes, or is Uber cheap in UK? State how much you spend on an average Uber ride and we'll convert it to its Naira equivalent. Or did you forget to add the trains? I'm happy you made videos when you came to Nigeria, people go and watch, then come here tell me if that's how an average Nigerian lives and spends money daily.
We know Nigeria has not yet become what it is supposed to be, but we are on our way there, and we'll get there with or without you. Very soon you'll do another video about relocating to Nigeria, don't worry we'll forgive you.
For those of you that want to go to the UK, hope she told you that you pay for everything, including the things you get for free in Nigeria? That's how you'll carry #2million Naira you would've used to start a good business or establish yourself here in Nigeria to UK and get stranded. That's how you'll be living on the street and eating from Trash cans two weeks after you've arrived UK. You better come back home now that you can, and its still cheap.
We thank God for what the President has done so far, it is better than how it used to be.
I LOVE MY COUNTRY (NIGERIA).

What you describe here is applicable to every ghetto/working class neighbourhoods. Poor people need expensive clothes to prove that they are not poor. If you go to Philippines or Venezuela even Brazil poor ppl live like that

You don't live in Nigeria anymore? It is a beautiful country. I have a farm there and I love to visit my farm.

You can not live anywhere if you do not have money. And BTW Nigeria is very cheap and not expensive. I own a farm with full time kitchen staff at my home and I am not RiCH. Very inexpensive
