In this week’s episode of Data on the Data, Sachin Somani, Global Director of Customer Proposition at Refinitiv, outlines the desire for central banks to develop their own digital currency to complement their existing offerings, reduce the reliance on coins and notes, and compete with private coins in the crypto space. Sachin outlines the drivers of adoption, the designs and models that will be implemented, and the implications for the commercial banking system. Will central bank digital currency compete with, or complement, the privately developed crypto?

Hmmm... E-Money? WTF!? Who is this guy?

Not one mention of the hazards of programmable fiat money and the direct 'financial nudging' a government can impart.

This guy is NOT EVEN ALLOWED to use common parlance - you can see him struggle to find synonyms for the words that must no be spoken.

It seems amazing that we can still use fiat money to buy decentralized cryptocurrencies. I'm quite sure that's the first thing a CBDC will deal with. This guy will probably be leading the charge.

Get Michael Saylor or Raoul Pal's opinion on the matter.

Feels like you kinda dropped the ball a bit on this one...

Love the channel - keep up the good work!

CBDC's will be important to serve the under served and those dependent on their government. However, they will have to coexist with private sector crypto in order to extend the opportunity and economic advantages they bring to those societies. Much is yet to be seen but that's why enormous opportunity lies ahead for those that share my opinion.

CBDC should be interchangable with fiat. Central bank should guarantee that CBDC is money. Stating the obvious?

Couldn't focus with Sachins droaning voice for longer than 2 minutes sadly. Very monotone and not engaging, slightly annoying to listen to.
