Donald Trump isn't the only leader complaining about central bank policies. Italy, India, Turkey and Argentina are just a few of the countries seeing leaders pushing back against central bank independence - and some are succeeding. CNBC’s Silvia Amaro walks us through the events that led to central banks gaining their independence and whether that autonomy could be at risk.

YES ! The authority to print money should be separate and independent from the authority to spend money !

in democratic countries, government often have election pressure which makes them more short-term focused. In such case, the long-term goal of central banks does not match the president's goal.

Government should have control over its money at least. US government asks fed to print money and pays interest on that money. Fed just creats money out of thin air and get paid interest. Something is wrong here.
That is true for all central banks.

Central Bank of any country should be responsible and answerable to the government of the country and it's people.... How much they print and how much money they supply to the market is in their hands... And they should inform the same to people of the country...

Government and politicians should not occupy the Central Bank...

But they should be updated from Time to time as to what is happening.... 👍

Commercial banks are the real problem, they print money every time they issue a loan, and no limit to how much they can lend. Why don’t you make a video explaining that and ask us if we think commercial banks should have the power to create as much money as they like?

Why do we need private Central Banks?
Governments should control them and why do we pay them interest for money they print?
And why should they bail out failed banks?
Why not have fixed interest rates of
5% on savings
8% for business loans
No need of changing rates as this only let's select few profit by manipulation

So we give central banks unlimited power? That's exactly opposite of what democracy means. Everyone should be answerable to the people. No one should be above reproach!

No. Fed is a prime example. Banks are businesses for profit not stabilty, growth and balance in economys. Central banks should be controlled by government. Problem is when government is controlled by business.
