Swatch developed the powermatic 80, which is laser regulated. A FREE SPRUNG BALANCE IN A WATCH LESS THAN ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Its like microstella but instead of turning a wrench a laser removes material from the balance wheel to regulate it. These are +2-2, in what is essentially a eta movement. Its mind blowing. Seems like returning to spring adjustments is moving backwards.
Edit: they still have microstella, but with an adjustable spring as well. It doesn’t work by shortening it, its some weird compliant mechanism. The omega website has more details

I don't know anything about the balance spring thing, but the look is amazing. As a big guy the size is perfect.

I like the look of the watch. I understand only 10 on the date wheel uses the italic font.

Cool new tech from my number Uno brand of watches; Omega made me dive into mechanical watches about 20 years ago.

I do like the hex pattern on the dial and the color fade on the seconds hand. Interested to see it in person.

I have the original white Speedmaster Racing - it wears big but comfortable as L2L is a hair under 50mm and the design hides the thickness well. The most accurate watch in my collection running about +1 seconds per day. I love this new design, btw.

Loving the technology! Keep on pushing.

Love the aesthetics, but only the font in the date window seems to be related to the “spirate” system.

They should have leaned into the pirate in spirate or the spiral in spirate… not sure where the hexagons came from?

The Pittsburgh set should really enjoy this

It's a yellow panda with a honeycomb dial. How is this not nicknamed the honey bear?

I like the watch. Pays tribute to the racing heritage pre moon landing… and dont think the yellow is bad since its a faded yellow… better then photina atleast… also the honeycomb pattern is similar to what is used in many high performance vehicles… and the tech sounds awesome. Only downside I see is the size… gotta have a big wrist to pull it off.

I think the spirate tech is great. Not that Rolex really feels pressure from anybody, but this one ups their -/+2 secs per day. I believe this will trickle through the Omega lineup and as it does, we'll see a price increase getting closer to parity with Rolex. I know this one has the newer bracelet style with quick adjust and the updated movement, but it's a 25% increase (from $8, 750 to $11, 000) over the current Speedmaster Racing. I am with Blake on the black/yellow motif. It's not for me. I do love the current Speedmaster Racing look quite a bit though, especially in black. The honeycomb is cool though. I really was hoping a revamp of the racing line would bring these down to a slightly more svelte 42mm. While I can pull off the 44.25mm asymmetrical case on my 7.25" wrist, I only sometimes want to wear something big and chunky and I'd want to wear that watch a lot. Side note: I really love the Speedy '57's size/style. Overall, I am happy to see Omega continue to push the envelope in the mechanical world. My AD rep said he was hoping they would put out some sort of spring drive competitor. THAT would be interesting.

Worn and Wound Scoop! See it here first! Good points here, like where does Omega go after calling their upgraded coaxial movement a Master Chronometer? A Super Master Chronometer, or a Super Chronometer? Anyway stuff to both fuel the imagination and have fun with the Omega marketeers; sounds like mouseketeers, for a little irreverence. And then when this dies down we can get serious about the extreme level of chronometry going on like a crazy 0 - +2 seconds rate!

That's some amazing development... Hard to come up with, easy to use!

Reaction videos? I'm all in! I can imagine these videos being a bit more frequent. I believe it will really help the channel grow!

Regarding the watch I think it does well design wise by replicating the Speedmaster Racing that existed before.

My first thought on seeing this movement... "they put a Mario hat on the spring?".

This watch is way to big.
It is almost like breitling.
The trent is smaller watches 39mm -40mm. What is omega doing

Looks as if they've put the new bracelet from the "new" Speedy Moon Watch on it, as well.
Which IN MY OPINION doesn't work well - in light of the fact that it's almost GIRLY narrow and tapers still more.
Going to make the whole package ungainly - lopsided, as a matter of fact; considering the diameter of the case.
As was the case with Rolex early Deep-sea - the watch head is too large for the relatively small bracelet.
Also.
I'm PERSONALLY not a fan of the new Omega Speedmaster clasps - the previous generation was much more refined, streamlined and timelessly elegant...

This is a gorgeous piece of machinery. It’s a slam dunk combined with a home run in design.
