I'm a bit surprised that you found it simple. Tg can be a VERY think-y abstract and it's one of my favorites! Handing the other person the piece they are going to have to place means you have to think a couple turns ahead to trap them into giving you a piece that let's you win. Great game.

This is a nice coffee table set top game. I had received a hand made copy in the early 90s. It still holds up as a fun time passer and kids love it!

I bought this just this year at GenCon. I got the smaller version. Good stuff.

I think he means simple in that there are only a few rules. Select a piece for your opponent. They place it. If there are 4 pieces in a row that share at least one attribute in common then they call "quarto" and win the round. If not, they select a piece for you to place, you place it, etc. I would say any game I can teach in the comments section of a youtube video is "simple" even if it is a very deep game with complex strategy.

Like all Gigamic games, the rules are very simple, but playing the game is not!
The fact that you´re not choosing your own piece, makes the strategy quite complex, and if you got two players who are both good at this game, it will take quite a while, and there will be A LOT of thought going into each single move!
But if you´re playing with someone who doesn´t really get it, then it´s over in a matter of minutes, and in my experience kids can play and enjoy it, but it´s really for heavy thinkers!
