Problem with the Leafs is there are no true leaders on that team. Every year since this core 4 era began none of the 4 has ever really made a statement in the playoffs that you could say elevates them to the status of any other guys on the team. There's no end to end rush like when McDavid or MacKinnon decide to show the world, I am payed 13 million a year and this is why I deserve this pay...if these 4 were payed less I might at least understand why they don't perform but when you are in the top 10 salaries in the entire league and you choke every year it's kind of sad.

Here's Toronto giving someone a captain just to try keep them. As he just signed his four year contract last year, so 3 years left. Let's try keep him after that as he only has 3 left.

Honestly we need to enjoy auston while we are lucky enough to have him, he obviously loves Toronto he does stuff for this city than we know! Ok i could not disagree more. Auton Matthews is defenetly not the guy . Only guy who showed heart in your keafs playoff was Marner. After he yell with linemate first thing he did get a goal meanwhile Matthews stayed in dressing room in that third. I don't know what you guys are seeing in Matthews If i were you I would keep Marmer trade Matthews for Draisaitl ASAP. Then you guys would have actually a chance to meke something happen in playoffs

He's gonna be the worst captain in the league. Guy crumbles under pressure year in and year out. Guy has a backbone that's about as sturdy as a twizzler. Have fun not even making the playoffs on this numbnut's watch.
