I’ve talked a lot about Spring trends lately but I haven’t mentioned the cute and quirky fashion trends I’m talking about in today's episode. Sometimes it’s these quirky trends that give an outfit a little extra interest and quite often these trends just pop up from nowhere. It's not until the season actually arrives that you start seeing the same pieces appearing and that's the exciting part. I love being blindsided by a trend and finding something new to love. I’m definitely getting in to the black and brown together after seeing it on Tibi videos. Wouldn’t have thought to put those colours together and I think it looks great 😊 I am also belting the oversized blazers. Louis Vuitton have black and brown together on their bags and shoes. I’ve been wearing that look.

Diane Keaton has led the way of belting blazers, jackets and coats for a decade or more. What's new with the current trend is that the fronts of the blazers are wrapped over each other. Even double breasted jackets are overlapped beyond the points where the buttons would have met their originally intended buttonholes. Then the belt to hold the wrap in place. Proportions as flattering as a Von Furstenberg wrap dress.

I love mixing browns with pale blues, pinks, purples, oranges etc. I like the idea of a brown/black mix of accessories but not a mix of black and brown main garments. I wore too much black back in the day and it was never flattering. Black and brown in accessories, however, adds deeper contrast and interest.

Reds, burgundy and oranges, peaches and dusty rose look terrific and modern when mixed together. I love it.,

I really like brown and black together, but not for spring/summer, but more for autumn and winter. Now in spring I really prefer lighter colours! I generally put away all my dark colours and get them out again in september/october.
