Student View Tutorial for Google Classroom | 2019 Update

There is an abundance of tutorials for Teachers and Google Classroom out in the inter-webs, but few for students. In this short video I try to quickly show the student side of Google Classroom and what students need to know to get started (and perhaps Teachers need to know to help students).

Señor Lee: OMG this was so helpful to see what the student sees. I don't use technology in my classroom much at all. (Year 33 Veteran teacher!). As you can imagine, I'm quite anxious about this distance learning thing. I really want my kids to still love Spanish. Cool...but what about the returning of assignments and corrections to the student? I wanted to see the student view of that.

How do I add myself as a student so I can go in as a student and troubleshoot when I get messages from students saying that as assignment won't open or won't let them interact with it?

Here's a question I have. I'm finding that my GC is looking a bit overloaded. So, I went ahead and created topics, and placed my classwork within those topics. I then hid all notifications from the stream.

In regards to tasks/classwork that are "due, " how does that appear on a students' stream when the stream has been clear of notifications?

Can you view the code as a student? My friend needs the code because we did it in class and she was ill. Teacher won't respond with the classroom messaging, havnt watched full vid yet so don't know if it's in the vid or not

If a teacher makes comments and private messages to an assignment and then presses "return", how are students notified that they have messages/comments/a returned assignment?
