V-PUMP DEMONSTRATION - VIDEO ONE

V-Pump is a device that removes standing water in a variety of applications with or without debris by using a simple venturi to remove both the water moving through the device along with the water that the device is submerged in. This is video one of 3 showing the product in use.

I picked one of these up today to run tests on. $40 CAD. 5 Litres into pump bucket, and ended up with 10 Liters in the catch bucket. Works out to be a 50/50 ratio. I'm going to try adding a tube to the bottom and see if it will suck up the tube as well as it works submerged. I will also be trying to add a pipe to the exit port and see if I can "wand" the output into a sprayer. If this works, it will allow me to custom mix chems/etc. For spraying.

I'm trying to get sand out of my filter.. Would this work because it's close to impossible to manually remove the sand.

What is the ratio of water it takes from the hose? Lets say you need to drain 10 gallons, do you need 10 gallons from your garden hose to do it or more or less?

It is a simple jet pump. I have used it to drain water bed. No big deal.

if use air pressure the name is air lift pump, if use water pressure the name is jet pump, both type pump in the upstream power use electric power.

I've seen 10 for 1 (you need 1 gallon to pump 10)

You can fill your hose with water, hold both ends shut, submerge one end in the container to be emptied, place the other end on a downward slope and siphon out the water without wasting even more water. As long as the hose is on a downward slope it will work. This is a stupid gadget. No wonder their site no longer exists.
