And we're back again with another Miraculous episode. My goodness this was a big one. The story! It actually moved forwards, and in a really big way! Lila and Chloe's storyline starts to pick up steam, and the ending of this episode pretty much changes the status quo. Nothing will be the same going forward from here. Enjoy.

Fun fact: in a deleted scene in this episode, when lila and chloe are exposed, alya apologises to marinette and hugs her. I really wish this was kept in cause tbh she's been a lila defender since day 1 even though she's been tormenting her best friend

As a teacher myself, I was especially appaled by seeing Ms. Bustier sending Lila and Chloé after Sabrina, after having witnessed such a meltdown by the latter against those two.
I mean, WTF.

Juleka supposedly requesting to be failed and the teachers being like "I mean, if that's what she really wants... who are we to judge?" was so outlandish.

Honestly, Layla is just a D&D character who rolls too high on charisma stuff while not being played by someone who is charismatic or intelligent enough to pull it off.

I despise Lila, not because she's evil, but because whenever she's on screen, the IQ of those around needs to drop to the single digits so that they'll fall for her lies. It's to the point where I wonder why Marinette even gives miraculous to her friends when they can be fooled so easily. As for Marinette's plan, it's illegal, crazy, convoluted and shouldn't have worked...so par for the course sadly.

Marinette definitely used her Mary Sue powers to prepare that whole bathroom shenanigan without no one realizing or objecting to it

In the end Ms. Bustie said "Chloe is irredemable. And there is no explanation to act like that." Okay Thomas. I think everyone get it. Chloe is the worst. Now please stop doing that because it's pathetic.

Also no one say she is right. Even Chloe fans know her actions is wrong. They just say it has explanation. And she has potential. If you want to make her a villain. That's fine. But do it right. I never see a show that try to hurt fans.

About the school system: I don't live in France but I have researched their education system for a project a while ago.
So the kids from Miraculous are currently in "middle school" and as of season 5 they will graduate from there soon. After that graduation they will all go to different high schools (called "lycee"). The high schools are specialised in certain skill sets, which is why the students need to decide what their path in life will be so early. You could see a little bit about it in the episode "wishmaker" when Luka explained that he is going to a high school with a focus on music.

Quite a few countries in Europe have a system of this sort. Usually the idea isn't that the children should decide early what career they want to take in the future. As far as I know they can often choose to just explain their interests and skills and then the teachers (and parents) discuss with them what path (which school) could lead them into the right direction. Then the kids will have much more time to decide what career they want. Though the amount of choices later will be narrowed down, because the students specialise in high school.

Take me for example. I grew up in Germany and here... the school system is a little complicated to explain to Americans, but generally speaking there is a path for general education on A-levels, but graduating from there is a lot of work. If you know early what you want to do and the career you want doesn't need an a-level-certificate, then you can choose to go to a specialised school instead. I went to a school about arts, graduated there when I was 19, then studied design in a specialised college, and there at age of 22-ish I finally decided what career I want. Then I further specialised myself in college until I was 27: Today I am a UX/UI-designer with a master degree. Back in school I didn't even know that this job exists, but it's perfect for me.

I would've really liked to see the scene of Alya apologizing to Marinette for not believing her after Marinette and Sabrina exposed Lila and Chloé with the other students also hugging Marinette as a way to apologize for the same thing and Adrien praised Marinette for finally exposing Lila. But even if it was cut I think it truly did happen, albeit off-screen. Perhaps they should make one of the future episodes show a flashback of that scene.

Not only does Lila have multiple mothers who are not aware of each other or what she is really doing, but she even has multiple fake identities? This girl is eligible to be on the FBI's most wanted list. At this point, I have no clue at all who she truly is under this mountain of lies.

Honestly, I’m getting CREEPY grown woman vibes from Lila.😥 For all we may know, with Lila’s constant lies, even her AGE could be a complete fabrication and she’s actually an adult woman trying to live out her teenage fantasy!

Lila is one of those characters that should have been a one and done antagonist, her constant involvement in the plot actively ruins the series, because in order to make her work you HAVE to make the rest of the characters morons with no long term memory in order for her to get away with lying time after time after time again. i'm happy she seems to be.... leaving the series for a good time as almost episode she has been a main part of has been some of the worst content in the series. Good riddance to bad, poorly written rubbish i say!

The ridiculous, over-the-top incompetence of adults in Miraculous has never bothered me because that's sort of a mainstay of many kids' shows and books, and I think it can be empowering for kids to learn that they have to find their own morality and not just trust that all adults have their best interests at heart, or mindlessly trust authority figures. So it's sort of a genre thing that I think just requires some easy suspension of disbelief. But the part where Marinette took apart a portable bathroom and manually installed her own electronically controlled switchable glass mirror kills a person's suspension of disbelief because it goes against the understood "contract" between the show and the audience of a program like this -- that the hero is using clever solutions that a kid could really pull off.

As far as I can tell, regular "switchable glass" -- the kind that goes from clear to opaque electronically -- costs maybe $125 _per square foot_ for a small amount like Marinette has. So assuming that's, say, a 2 x 3 mirror (though it looks bigger than that), that's $750 just to buy _regular_ switchable glass. I can't even find pricing online for switchable mirror glass (which does indeed exist!), but I assume it would be even more, given how specialized the technology is. But I also want to know how Marinette got it on such short notice. It's not the kind of thing you can just buy at the hardware store, and transporting glass isn't fast or easy. Plus glass is.... extremely heavy for "normal girl with a normal life" Marinette to just be carrying around?

I could've bought into this if they'd said that Max was in on Marinette's plan, because Max is apparently a supergenius, and maybe he could make switchable mirror glass in a pinch for Marinette, cut exactly to the dimensions of the portable bathroom, I guess. But nope -- apparently Marinette did this all on her own. Ah, well.

I‘m kinda disappointed tho that they cut out the apology scene from Alya and Ms Bustier…, I wonder why they deleted it🤔…, it seemed appropriate and necessary to me🤷🏻‍♂️…, the episode is still great, but that scene would have been the cherry on top…, and the scene was almost full out animated, which means that it was a last minute decision to cut it out…🤔

Off topic, but I love the animation in this episode…👍🏼

We now know why Lila always avoided playing sports: she was afraid her wig would fall off or get knocked off and she would be exposed. She goes by Iris Verdi (green iris) in season 6, although as Cerise she has amber eyes, so we can only guess her truths at this point. I feel her friendship with Chloe is more sincere than people think because with Chloe she gets to be her true villainous self and doesn't have to pretend to be who she pretended to be to everyone else. We shall see where they go with her from here. One thing is clear from what I have seen of Collusion and Revolution: Lila/Cerise/Iris will have a much bigger role starting in season six and that could mean that the writing for her will improve. Hopefully she becomes a better written villain than Gabriel ever was. I believe they are going with the Hidden Agenda Villain trope with her.

Not only is Lila a Villain Sue, I think she has one of those medical conditions where she looks like a teen but is really an adult.

I have no idea where the person who wrote the subtitles got it, but Juleka doesn't say that she wants to be a mortician. She says "Moi, j'aimerais devenir [inintelligible]" which translates to "Me, I'd like to become [unintelligible]".
Whatever she says, it sounds nothing like "croque-mort" or "fossoyeuse" or any word that remotely resembles "mortician".

10:56 - Yes, Audrey... I can't get over the fact that, in "Adoration", we were shown that ALL OF SUDDEN she didn't care about Chloé anymore, AGAIN, to the point that she considered her interchangeable with Zoé.
And now again, ALL OF A SUDDEN, she cares again to the point of pushing André to abuse his power in order to keep Chloé from being expelled. What, why?
And why does Chloé care about being expelled from school, since she repeatedly states she doesn't care about her education?
