RG35XX Series - Controllers (Did you know the RG35XX works with 2 Players?)

Показать описание
In this video I cover all things about using controllers on the RG35XX including 2 player support. Why does the Anbernic website not advertise this feature? Why is this not listed in comparisons to other similar handhelds? Now there is a video about that so hopefully that will change.
Update: 3 and 4 players actually does work with some additional steps. I hope to have an updated video about this soon.

You put a smile on this frustrated girl. After a hour trying to get my abitdo pro2 to work though Bluetooth, work right away once I wire it up.

Thank you for making this video exist.

That's one reason I got my device. My case fits my charger and an hdmi cord, bring two 360 bluetooth controllers (for connecting to android on my rg353v) and you have a portable multiplayer console with every game you want. My younger self would be mind blown.

THANK YOU! Something not covered in any other review for this device!

Make sure you have a good hub that is rated for at least 2, 000 mA. Because each controller will use 1, 000 mA, usually, if you use a 15 dollar hub a second controller will lag. Also, the best way to do this is to get an expensive hub that is powered and has two USB 3.0 ports, and make sure it is rated for at least 2, 000 mA. You will also need a charging plug that puts out 65 watts.

Thank you for this video! I just finished digging through all of my controllers and only that a stock PS4 controller worked.

My experience here.
A 2.4g gamepad worked well but the wired one just worked connected directly, in the hub that doesn't work. I think that even with a weaker hub, use two 2.4g can do it cause they use their own batteries instead the PD from the hub. I'd like to test the Dualshock 4 with the 8bitdo adapter to do the trick, maybe one day...
EDIT: I tried another wired simple controller and it was recognized together with the 2.4g, I couldn't test it on games yet, maybe tomorrow I edit this again. And another thing, when you set the controllers you lose the MENU button, so I recommend to do it by the quick menu (Menu+X) inside the games, so when you restart the console you lose the configuration and can use the rg35xx gamepad normally.
Edit 2: I DID IT WORKING, SEE THE COMMENT BELOW

I've just bought an RG35XX. It has Garlic OS preinstalled, si no idea what version (probably latest?). I then bought an 8bitdo SN30 pro wired version with xinput (i.e. NOT the wireless Bluetooth version). I then watched this video and added the wait for usb file etc. I then connected everything up (using OTG usb etc). When I start the RG35XX it let's me navigate the menus (buttons not mapped correctly tho), but as soon as I start the game, the connected controller does not work. It also does not show up in the controller list in Retroarch. I read in the comments to use an older version of Garlic OS, but 1. I'm not technically skilled and 2. I would have assumed the issue would be fix by now (is it?) Any help greatly appreciated 🙏

So I'm running garlic OS, and my controller works on the main menus, but when I open a game it stops registering. No idea what I'm doing wrong. any advice?

Thanks a lot dude for this video.
I will try to find the similar setup (usb C with PD and USB A + an usb A hub).

Excellent video! What about Bluetooth stack? That would solve many issues, like multiple cables, power requirements for USB... Maybe using blue retro and mapping to USB controllers

Nice, very smart idea. Have you tried to do save state and load state hotkey with gamepad? I could not get it to work

Hey guys, you can connect XBOX Series X/S Controller to RG35XX using 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2. It's working. I really don't expect that. You just need to re-assign all the buttons using retroarch input menu. Retroarch sees it as a sony controller with 2 analogs. Just fine :)

Not sure if anyone asked this but instead of controllers can you plug in another anbernic console and play 2 player like that?

When I tried it with stock OS, everything worked right out of the box. Used a 2.4GHz 8bitdo Ultimate C in D-input, no mapping necessary, hotplugging not a problem. With GarlicOS, setup is pretty fiddly, and I keep getting random system crashes with a controller attached. Hope his is something that can be sorted out down the line.

I got one of the OTG cables for mine, and the power end wont charge my RG35XX. The controller connector works fine, but my console wont charge. This is kinda suck considering the battery on the device drains so fast. I have to choose to play or charge, but never both.

I looked for a video like that. Nice to see that two controllers work. Can you check if arcade sticks work too ?
