Thanks. I had a plugin in VS Code saying I needed at least v7.4, so I followed your instructions to install 8.1, EXCEPT I read elsewhere to use the NON-thread-safe version to run PHP under IIS. Is that correct? Oddly, when I open CMD and type php -v, I get 7.3.1, which is what I had installed with XAMP. I tried moving the path for 8.1 above all other paths in System Environment Variables, but it made no difference Yet when I run the terminal WITHIN VS Code, it shows PHP version 8.1. (Good enough for the plugin, so good enough for now...)
