Colossians chapter two takes us back to the heart of Christianity, to the foundation of what we believe and how we should live as a result.

Katie Walters guides us through the chapter, and reminds us of the fullness and freedom that is available to us through Christ.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

FORMULA FOR FULLNESS

WHAT I BELIEVE + WHAT I KNOW = HOW I LIVE

1. WHAT I BELIEVE

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord continue to live your lives in him… Colossians 2:6a (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. John 3:14-15 (NIV)

2. WHAT I KNOW

… rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught…
Colossians 2:7a (NIV)

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3 (NIV)

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ESV)

3. HOW I LIVE

…and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7b (NIV)

...having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Colossians 2:13-15 (ESV)
