British Steel Hardtail Dream Build!

Показать описание
Welcome back to Street Pigeon MTB to what has to be one of the most exciting videos I have produced for some time.
The growth of the British Steel Hardtail market has been incredible over the past few years. Steel hardtails offer the rider something special - simplicity, pleasing aesthetics and reliability. Link this with modern geometry and you have amazing performance. In this video we film the build of what I believe could be the best British steel hardtail currently available.
There are loads of dream build videos out there. In this video we look at my specific dream build - based on keeping the budget under 3K. I realise that will not be everyone's idea of a dream build, but for me dream builds are a personal thing.
In summary, the Forge from Bird has been years in the making. The roots of this British steel hardtail can be traced to initial designs in 2013. The final Forge bike is a trail-ready, enduro slaying 29” wheeled beast, taking a 130-160mm fork and made from the perfect mix of 4130 steel and Reynolds 853 DZB. A slack 64 degree head angle combined with short chainstays, sleek tubing and a slim tapered headtube means the Forge is aesthetically traditional with modern geometry and is ready to conquer the gnarliest trails you can find whilst looking beautiful. The main features of the Bird Forge are as follows -
29 Inch Wheels
140-160mm front travel
4130 steel with Reynolds 853 DZB top tube and down tube
Investment cast chainstay yoke for maximum tyre clearance (2.6”)
ISCG05 mount
2x Bottle cage mounts on the downtube
SRAM UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger)
External cable routing
Threaded bottom bracket
If you are new to my videos then expect to see high quality riding vlogs shot in the same style as McTrail Rider, Paul the Punter and BKXC. I try to travel to the best MTB locations in Scotland finding you the best mountain biking trails.
The video was shot on a GoPro Hero 7 mounted on the chin of a Met Parachute helmet using a Gnartec mount. The chest camera footage was shot on a GoPro Hero 9.
