He was also a playable driver in Mario Kart DS and had some of the most OP karts in the game alongside him for a theme.

So basically, ROB was the opening act to Mario’s main performance, but ROB was marketed as the main performance.

Here's some extra information left out.

1. The video game crash was mainly caused by a lack of quality control of third-party companies making and releasing games on the 2600, but ET was essentially the straw that broke the camel's back and the market crashed. Once the NES came out in order to get a game out on it you had to pass the quality control by Nintendo themselves. Meaning it was harder to get a third party game out on it than on the 2600.

2. The market only crashed for home video game consoles in the west as the Famicom was already out in Japan at this point and was a critical success and pc games were able to hold on because PCs could do other things besides play games unlike the 2600 or intellivision even if more expensive.

I loved Rob as a kid. Founs a working nes with him when I was 7 In a thrift store. Back then I just enjoyed playing games rather than being good at them.
