Mercedes 300CE-24 1992 5 Speed 722 5 also known as 4G Tronic / NAG1 Automatic Transmission

The 4G-Tronic was used until mid-1996 in some vehicles when it was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz 722.5 which is basically the same transmission with an additional electrically controlled 5th gear for overdrive.

That little switch, is connected to the ignition, it knock the timing back, for a fraction of a second to reduce load on transmission, under acceleration, when changing gear

I have a w140 with a 722.508 gearbox. The car doesn't go forward or backward. There is oil. Please help. What could be the reason? Can I install a 722.503 or 722.509 gearbox? What are the differences? Regards and I'm waiting for help :)

Good day, I've watched and enjoyed this and other films of yours from curiosity mainly, now because my 95 R129 has chosen to get cranky in reverse (engages only when cold) and trying to think this through. Full rebuild, don't necessarily want to do it again or replace reverse clutches only, forward and passing gears are 100%. I use this vehicle maybe 5K miles per year. What does all believe ? Im a danish mechanic, and im having problems with reaching the top bolts that holds the gearbox on to the engine 😪 do you have any trick to get them off / reach them?
