External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the parallel rise of India & China present a very unique problem in global politics. He said,'There are two neighbouring countries that are unique in the sense that they are the only two countries with over a billion people, both rising in the global order & often having overlapping peripheries, including a common border. So, it's really a very complicated issue. I think if you look at global politics today, the parallel rise of India & China present a very unique problem.'

'Parallel rise of India & China represent a very unique problem', says EAM S. Jaishankar. This may be more accurate: "Slow rise of India & the fast-paced rising of China represent a very unique problem since both have almost equal populations." So what went wrong?

China is way out of india's league, by any metrics, india is at least 50~100 years behind. It's like claiming ' parallel rising of Adani and me!' just because I got a raise of 1000 rupees per year.

India has potential, but look at India's big challenges. 1. Dependence on oil. 2. Criminal politicians with rampant corruption- (30% with rape/murder type serious crimes, source ADR India).3. Infrastructure - A lot of recently built infrastructure collapsed as a result of the poor quality due to corruption. 4. Religious fundamentalism - for eg: Wants the port project in Iran, but also a strong ally of Israel. 5. Youth Unemployment doubled to 65.7% ( not a typo) per ILO. 5. There are some border challenges with China, but more than that, a separatist movement that was setled in Punjab, is now being revived by certain western powers. Solution - give up false pride and work with China to establish decent infra and open Chinese factories to employ Indian youth. Basically India comes across as a lot of talk on the economy, not much action.

The main task of all Indian diplomats and politicians is to promote India as a superpower.
However, in the eyes of outsiders, India's main problem ten years later will be, how to deal with the embarrassing fact that the living standards of Indians are lower than those of sub-Saharan African countries.

Jaishankar is just like any ordinary Indians.. Ignoring facts trying to wear a hat too big for its head. It won't end well picking a confrontational approach with a nation 6X stronger in national power.. 😂

How can it be a parallel rise when China is 3-5 times everything India is, except population, and 75 years ahead of India infrastructurally?

India today is like China thirty years ago when US treated China fairly and provide necessary supports it needs. So im afraid India has to yet to become a superpower until US slaps tarrifs at you and treats you unfairly.

Jaishankar still has the guts to talk about India's parallel rise with China. What a real laughing stock. Perhaps he should take some lessons in simple arithmetic

During the last decade, our relationship with our neighbours has deteriorated with Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Afghanistan and has not improved with Pakistan and China. When China came knocking at our doors, no country criticised China. Is this not our diplomatic failure?

US: China became rich thanks to us.
India: We're the world's biggest democracy! Shouldn't we be the first in line for that prosperity?

To pursue individual interest? But India has allied with US in the Quad and so is deprived of any individual pursuance of its interest!!!

Answer could be simpler than we might think. Active cooperation than competition. Move forward, embracing and celebrating similarities and respecting differences.

QUAD was formed to contain China. Last month, another grouping was formed to achieve the same aim, and in this grouping, India was replaced by the Philippines. WHY?

Do you even understand the meaning of Parallel? its a linear rise, where China is way ahead and there is no comparison between china and India at all.

India needed to pursue the foreign policy of Congress and go on all out friendship with china to develop itself and increase regional connectivity at the speed of light. By now india would be well ahead of current state and the region would be thriving lead by China.

instead overskirt chanaykas wanted to do it alone bottling and sucking the blood of the smaller states. I mean I'm yet to find any reasonable explanation of such policies that hinders your development, except to call it a policy driven by religious bigotry to win elections.
