External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has termed ties with China as 'abnormal.' He said that relations between India and China fall into a different category. Jaishankar even blasted China for LAC provocations, which led to a dip in bilateral relations. 'The rise of China and India in a parallel time frame is also not without its competitive aspects,' said Jaishankar at an event in the Dominican Republic. The scathing attack on China comes as 18 rounds of military talks fail to yield results.

I don't think that border is a major issue, from China's perspective. Their major concerns are Tibet and the potential of India's collaboration with US-West, against China. In order to be secure, in these aspects, it is necessary for China to keep India un-hinged, anxious and on-the-toes. This is precisely, they are doing. India, of course, understands it, but cannot do anything about it. Resolution of border dispute, therefore, is not in China's interest.
