We were all really lucky to get Norman Fell and Don Knotts on the same show. Both brilliant in a different way.

You cannot compare Norman Fell's 'Mr. Roper', and Don Knott's 'Mr. Ferley' characters. Both characters were uniquely and brilliantly played by the actors, giving both characters a separate life, and a charm that only those two actors could.

I love Don Knotts, he's hilarious, but for this series, the way Mr Roper would always "break the fourth wall" was one of the highlights of the show for me lol
